Luptatorul Virgil Munteanu (cat. 59 kg), la greco-romane, a fost primul roman care a intrat in competitie.

Munteanu l-a invins on primul tur pe ungurul Csongor Knipli, in optimi a trecut de turcul Fatih Ucuncu, dar a fost invins in sferturi de moldoveanul Victor Ciobanu.

Tot la greco-romane, Tomi Hinoveanu (cat. 71 kg) a pierdut in primul tur la suedezul Zackarias Tallroth. In limitele categoriei 98 kg, Alin Alexuc-Ciurariu a cedat in optimi in fata belarusului Timofei Dzeinicenko.
