What is there to discuss, spec's broken mate. We need this, this and this fixed firstly, also we kinda need better gear in terms of ilvl that grants more crit rating, but i guess that will solve itself once ToT/SoO get released.

Well I think frost will be viable on ToT.
But of course we need a fix for fire spec.

I think fire wont be viable until at least soO gear what you guys think ? and current crit ratios are just too low for making any worthy damge plus Fire spec needs to be fixed more.

Because fire mages have 5.4 spells, this means our combustion only accounts for 20% of ignite tick damage, thats it, basically without t16 bonus for guaranteed pyro crits after HS, and also as previously stated for the high crit rating values on SoO gear, we literally cant play fire effectively.

Combustion got changed gradually with every mop patch to compensate for the increasing crit ratings and potential burst fire could pull off, so it makes sense to tone it down as gear increases, but on freakz we got shitty combustion with shitty 5.1 gear, worst combination ever, also those 3 major bugs that *** your alter time burst combo.

As you can see, progressive nerfs across all mop patches. If we play with 5.4 spells but 5.1 gear....we are fooked.

Indeed i haven't seen much good fire mages.

Soo. At the moment, fire is not viable, from what i see...too bad, love this spec man, hug it, care for it, for it will care back:) i am rolling arcane, but at 501 ilvl i think 120k single target is a bit low, so was thinking to switch to frost...is it viable? From what raids i v done i v seen small difs between frost and arcan

Few ppl play arcane,but I think frost spec is a better option.

I just tested fire spec , but I think Combustion does not work properly,my best ticks have done 1.39M with 100k Ignite.This is Cataclysm damage.

Tested fire at 547 ilvl gear, full trinket procs and everything and the combustion ticks(critical) >24k/tick (lowest)>8k/tick. It`s a shame because I think a lot of people miss this spec.

I had just talk with a GM but he said a custom fix for Combustion will not happen so until SoO >550ilvl bye bye fire.

Anyone over 560iLvL tested Fire vs Frost in PvE?

I did...with frost i managed 800k or so burst and with fire 1.2mil and i have 559.I think fire is better than frost and more fun.And i think You have better sustain with fire if you have at least 50% crit.

Ps: I tested with 2p t16.
