Why does it have to do anything with winning or losing, transmog doesn't make you hit harder but it just makes you feel better or scare your enemy. And just because blizzard did it doesn't mean we have to do it aswell, blizzard didn't have arena spectate npc yet we have it, blizzard didn't have instant flying path yet we have it so i don't see why wouldn't we make small custom changes in order to improve gameplay for everyone.

This will be my last post on this topic, because I can feel this topic turning into something else.

I personally do not care, I just gave my opinion and stand by it - why remove them when they don't influence your game at all? Just because you don't like it? Hell... people leveling up hated Marauden, or Razorfen Kraul, because they took hours to finish, back in the past. Were they removed? Nope.

Do what you want, make a pole, or even 3 more topics. In my opinion masks are irrelevant, and this topic is just a nitpicking-fest.

Well if its possible make the mask buff removable. Those who care and want them removed can take off the buff. Those who doesnt care can leave it on.

It will eliminate the confusion also since you know you are Horde as alliance if you started with a mask and you removed it on purpose.

It's not how it is on Blizzard. On retail players don't get masks, but something similar to Orb of Deception. It (only visually) changes the race of the player to an appropiate of the opposing faction.

The masks were just a joke Blizzard made on the announcement image.

most of the time i don't even notice the mask, it's only when i think i'm on the 'opposite' team i realize i'm one of them lol

What we have on Freakz is not exactly blizzlike.


My suggestion is to give "crossfactioned" players using Dungeon Finder the disguise similar to the one given on battlegrounds.


HOWEVER

I would also like to mention, that to be blizzlike players shouldn't be given masks, but their disguise should be similar to the Orb of Deception. The mask on the Mercenary Mode announcement by Blizzard was just a joke, and on retail players get visually tansformed into appropiate race from opposite faction.

""When you compete as a mercenary, you still earn all of the same rewards you would have by winning or losing as your own faction (with the exception of faction-specific achievements). Your race also automatically changes into one appropriate for the opposite faction while you’re still inside the Battleground or Ashran."

"Players will automatically have their race changed into one appropriate for the opposite faction which means their model, including tooltips, will be completely changed and unrecognizeable as being "disguised".
