It was hard to notice the farm ( for farming certain cooking ingredients ) was missing from this server. I can imagine there are lots of reasons for which the freakz staff could not implement it (phasing being required, mainly) but that has not stopped me from thinking of a way for it to become a reality on this server. I only thought of this because the vegetables we all need for cooking have proven to be extremely difficult to obtain through other means (mobs drop and/or buying them from nam ironpaw). I have no programming skills whatsoever so I thought of this stuff from a noob's point of view:

Seeing as how the freakz staff has managed to create the oondasta and nalak weekly quests by spawning two bosses in a raid area that was unused for now, I thought they could also spawn the objects from which the vegetables could be looted in another, similar, unused dungon/raid area, this making the "farm" a separate area for each player, solving the phasing problem.

Another feature of the blizzard farm was the fact that players had a limited farming space that (I assume) grew depending on their reputation with the tillers. This would force the players to decide which vegetable to plant and it would also limit the amount of vegetables they could reap from the harvest. I imagine this is also a difficult thing to program (spawning a certain object at a certain time after the player chose what object to be spawned ) but, given another couple of days I think I could come up with a way to trick that into our server as well.

Alternate point of view: make daily quest with plants as reward

1. One NPC standing on farm
2. Daily Quest: "choose plants for today" (dialogue window)
3. Wait few seconds/minutes/hours
4. Take 20 (for Magebulb Seed, Songbell Seed, etc...) or 60 (for Turnip, Pumpkin, etc...) chosen items as reward
5. Wait for the next day and new daily Farm-quest.

for parts 2-4 - plants AFTER quest completion needed to prevent abusing like "take plants, cancel quest, take quest, take plants again..."

also, there can be "Donation" quest like WOTLK dailies:

but with limit kind of "1/2/3 donations per day" - players have to choose which plant they want to grow

Something like - donate 8 "Songbell Seed" - got 8 "Mote of Harmony"

I was thinking of a quest system too when I got my nalak/oondasta quests a couple days ago - and for a little effect, the quest npc could be a mound of earth in that patch next to all the weeds and whatever else is spawned there - maybe if you could also implement a system that makes the number of quests you can pick up depend on your reputation with the tillers -
