I am bis on a mage. Pulled 880k dps @ 25 mil but that's rarely... I want something to pull 40-500k constantly :s.. as it did on retail

Did you do some play testing on fire mage recently?

I feel it fairly instabile. DPS on Frost is better then on retail (much much better, even without trinkets proper working). Fire I think works fine but feels fragile compared to the OP scale dps of the frost one. Arcane is unplayable at this moment.

It is viable but you need good gear .

Just came back on the server to play with my mage after a loong time. I really like fire on this expansion but I see only bad posts about it on the server. Some post are very old sow i am asking if anithing change. I have a 484 item lvl but still the damage is werry low and not to mention a lot of procs are not working as they should. All othr clases with same item lvl are just playing with me. Can you make it playble plz!!!

Play frost until 550-560 ilvl because without a proper crit chance the spec is useless.

Fire is pretty decent spec however it requires gear. It was the same on live servers. Unless you had legendary cloak and proper crit chance (which is achievable at around 560+ ilvl) then you will pull low numbers. Frost is much better until that ilvl.

It`s a shame black blood doesn`t work properly with alter time, It`s very annoying.
