Question about donating/buying gear

If I purchase a PvP gear set, whether it's the 5 main, off pieces, or weapons, will I be able to upgrade those to the next tier for a small fee when the next season starts? I didn't find info on upgrade fees for that kind of stuff. I just don't want to buy a bunch of gear/weapons and find out I have to pay for it all again full price when the next PvP season starts. I'm still kinda new to private servers and trying to figure out how this works.

atm you can buy: Grievous gear with honor
Prideful gear with conquest points
That means that best pvp gear is obtainable.

Atm we're in grievous season even tho prideful gear is obtainable. When this season ends, only pvp ladder/ratings/mmr will reset, you will keep your gear and next season will begin.

Same goes for donating, its the same gear for this and for the next season.

Ok I would like to 'donate' for some gear and I am wondering, does '2H Weapon / Gun / Bow / Crossbow' include staff as well? I was thinking of getting the Prideful staff.
