ERROR #132 (0x085100084) Fatal exception! - with solution

I had been playing the game for a few weeks and yesterday I suddenly had this error pop up. I went to the website, looked through the 4 listed fixes
and I tried all of them with no success.

1. The DVR settings were all turned off

2. Compatibility Issue

3. Downgraded direct X 11 to 9

4. Tried the non-64 versions.


*Data Folder was unchecked for Read Only

*Did a Character Unstick/Remove from party

I am still getting the error. I have tried a clean install of the game, downloaded the wow client repair, everything that you have listed I have tried. The game was working
fine for weeks until yesterday and no solution that you have provided will fix it.

There have been few reports about this situation, "error starting to appear randomly", but currently there is no known reason (or solution) for them...

After several attempts of working through some of the solutions I finally scrubbed my PC of all things wow related. All of the freakz files, and also the residuals from downloading WoW through the Blizzard app. That second. A friend sent me their files, minus the data files, so I started the game with just the trickle download and it seems to be working.

While I had made sure to delete the files before completely from the newly created WoW folder, I didn't delete the ones connected to the Blizzard Launcher, I hadn't realized that they existed initially. Those files seemed to have corrupted the game files, I think and caused error 132.

Even if other games are launched through Blizzard app, it's fine, just don't try and install WoW through the blizzard app or repair it at all because it seems to corrupt the data files.

I hope this helps everyone and the devs here to sort through a workable fix that doesn't require completely scrubbing all the data files.

I just started getting that same error today. I played some this morning, but now am getting this error shortly after logging onto a toon. Hope someone figures out what is going on, soon.

I looked around in the installation and found the crash dump files from when the error occurred. Maybe something in those might help figure this out.
