It does not double the amount.
He buys 7 caches and gets 1400 resources, just from opening very fast the chat occasionally combines messages.

i don't know if you could hear the dude tlaking or not , but it is doubling the amount.
you could also notice that he's getting x200 per chest , sometimes x400 , they do not stack -_- .
