I messedup

So just hit level 100, purely by doing quests in and around Frost Wolf Ridge. Didnt even get to go to any other place like Tanaan etc. Here is the problem I now have. When I hit level 100 and Broken Isle content opened up, I got the option to choose either a polearm or a bow. Im a tauren hunter and really wanted to play survival, so I chose the polearm. Now when I go in to do my artifact quest line, those damn things one shot me every single time. In less than no time I am marked as damaged goods and can perform no other abilities.

Please, is there any advice for this?
