Made a report about this some 4-5 months ago and it got rejected, this time i bring multiple proof that arcane missiles should benefit from pandemic effect.
How it should work: if you interrupt your channel with a second one, the unused "ticks" of Arcane Missiles will roll over and extend the length of your new channel. But you can only roll over up to two ticks this way, since Pandemic can only roll over up to +50% of the original duration and a third tick would make that 60%. So while you can interrupt one channel with a second immediately and be fine, doing it again with a third will guarantee you lose some ticks.

This post (from may 2017) explains in great detail exactly how it works on retail which is important since there is a slightly different interraction when chaining rule of threes procs with regular arcane missiles and vice-versa. (should read Sarm's reply fully)

This post is from 2015 (WoD times, exactly when i specified in my old report that pandemic was added to missiles), it also proves that pandemic should affect missiles.

This is a retail video from LEGION (patch 7.2.5 from what i can tell) showing how arcane missile channel time changes when chained with a previous missiles cast that did not finish completely. The insane amount of projectiles is probably caused by him being a 101 twink, not sure. But you CLEARLY see the channel time goes from 1.7 sec on first one to 2.1 on the second.

its still happening and quite often, on both normal version with 5 ticks and rule of threes procs with 8 ticks. At this point i dont know what else to say, no matter what haste value i have it still happens, you will see in the video i let the casts go all the way through with big pauses between them...to avoid any possible clipping.

Pandemic is not 50% by any means, it's 30%.

I think what he was referring to with the 50% is the channel of the missiles not how much pandemic carries over. Because pandemic cant carry over more than 2 ticks of regular missiles (5 ticks) into a new channel, but it will carry over the time gap between the ticks, its easier if i show you on a quartz cast bar.



Vertical lines are where ticks happen, so pandemic can carry over 1 and 2 and any gap betwee 2 and 3, but it cant ever include 3rd tick into new channel. In other words, you should be able to safely recast a new channel of missiles anywhere between 1 and 3 (but 3 not included) with no negative effects, but if you try to include tick number 3 it will replace tick number 1 and carry over ticks number 2 and 3 into the new channel.

You can see the mage in this video (clear example at 0:40) doing the same, he is recasting missiles in the gap between ticks 2 and 3. first channel cast time is 1.7 sec, second channel cast time is 2.3 sec.

Both channels were rule of threes procs, after 5 projectiles of the first cast were launched he activated second channel, so 3 leftover ticks were transferred to the new channel which was also a rule of threes proc, and he did 11 projectiles in the second channel (8 + 3 from the first channel).

Please fix the missing ticks once and forever. I know it.s hard but mages have no other spec for pvp other than fire in this case. Frost just doesn.t cut it, we have arcane left. Thank you !!

Any progress/news on this? I know you have alot on your table to do but this is basically the core spell of arcane and has been malfunctioning since the 15th of june last year when legion was launched.
