[Gilneas] The hunt for Sylvanas

Bug description: Tobias Mistmantle the mob you have to follow despawns after you pass a certain point. Can't progress and get out of gileas due too this.

(tried deleting cache/disabling addons and it didn't work)

wait between the two buildings until he has jumped into the courtyard on the otherside then you can move up to this spot and Stand Here and just wait

Problem occurs for more users. Quest giver doesn't restart the quest.

Good day

I am stuck on a quest in Gilneas. The Hunt for Sylvannas. I am suppose to follow Tobias Mistmantle but he despawns after you pass a certain point. I need to do this quest in order to get out of Gilneas.

I have tried clearing my cache, addons off, etc I even tried the unstuck on the website..... no Luck.....

I also met another player - who have been struggeling with the same issue for 3 days already. My son and I have created this characters to play and level up together - so we are both stuck.

Please help

Hi mate! Did you tried this and it worked? I stood there for more than 10 min and nothing happen.

Edit:
You need to stay a bit further back from Tobias when he makes the first jump and he will follow the path as normal.

Hello everyone, not sure if there are still some people stuck on this quest, but the way I work around the bug for now is to:

step 1. accept the quest and follow Tobias like normal.
step 2. The moment he jumps over the water to the other side, DO NOT FOLLOW HIM. Edit: Make sure you don't phase into the next location/zone. If it does happen, you should be able to walk back. As long as you're in the same location, things should work fine!
step 3. Wait there and the dialogue should start at some point, I was able to follow tobias with the mouse (had him as target) and his dialogue starts like normal.
step 4. Wait until he speaks of Sylvanas being inside and you can move into the building.
step 5. As you enter, Sylvanas and the other npcs should be spawning and have everything ready go as normal.

Also, keep in mind that this quest can not be done if you wait for other people's npcs. What I'm saying is, if there are more people doing the quest at the same time, make sure that the dialogue is yours if you're not in a group. I've seen people hanging around me trying to leech of the quest, but then end up not having it completed because they're not in my group.

I hope this works for everyone for as long as this quest is still bugged!
