Guide: Heart of Azeroth

The Heart of Azeroth is an artifact medallion, entrusted to only the worthiest of heroes by Magni Bronzebeard, as a gift from Azeroth herself to the world's protectors.

The Heart can absorb Azerite, the very essence of the world-soul which bleeds through the planet's surface, and heal the nascent titan through it.

It also empowers its bearer's armor and grants them new abilities. The helm, shoulders, and chest can unlock the special bonuses from this.

Note: Essences system will become available in Season 3.

General Information:

This item is a quest reward from The Heart of Azeroth, which is part of the Battle for Azeroth intro experience.
The neck can be upgraded up to [40] Artifact Level in Season 1. (Starts at Artifact Level 1)
It can be upgraded up to [403] Item Level in Season 1. (Starts at Item Level 280)

Artifact Power:

In order to empower your neck, you must collect Azerite (AP) to increase its stats and unlock traits for your Azerite Armor (Head, Shoulders, Chest).
Unlike Legion, Artifact Power will automatically be applied to your Heart of Azeroth, so you won't have to worry about your bags being full.
The amount of AP needed from levels 1 to 10 is linear. After level 10, the AP needed to level up is 30% higher than the previous level.
Azerite can be obtained by completing all kinds of content: killing rares, dungeons, raids, pvp battles, island expeditions, quests and world quests.

Item Level:

When you reach a new Artifact Level, your neck gains [+2] Item Level.
Reaching Friendly, Honored, and Revered reputation with the Champions of Azeroth faction unlocks the appropriate quests to upgrade your neck for all characters on your account.
