Character name change request

Hello, I need help with a character name that is taken by someone inactive for one year and 8 months.
The name is "Thinas", which was my first character ever, so it holds immense emotional value.
When I installed WoW Legion on Freakz, he was the first character i wanted to make, but the name was taken.
Please, let me know if I can get the original name "Thinas", without having to create variants of it.
Also, I have a character named "Tavick", if possible, i would like that name to be replaced with "Thinas"

Well, the only ways to get that name are the following:

A) Donate and take (steal) the name from the inactive character
B)Wait for them to name change or delete their character

Other than that, I don't think there's any way to get your hands on that name as of right now. :/

Is it legal if I donate to "steal" the name? I ask this because I do not want to be punished for something that could be not legal.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine, I've done it too. I just said 'steal' because you're taking something from someone else. Names can only be taken from inactive players. I took a name that was on a lvl1 player that hadn't been online for 3 years.

Also, to do this, you need to do so on the website, it's not in the in-game shop (but the in-game shop currently is unavailable)

Hello Cerreiran8,

Please make sure you free up the inactive name first before attempting to rename your character.

You can use the "free up inactive name" in the shop, and then use the rename option to rename your character.
