Cant open WoW

Ok, so I was playing just fine a few mins ago (04/18, 10am) then server went down and after that I tried to open WoW again and Im gettin an error message:

Failed to initialize WoW.mfil.
Details:
[7] err=0 text=Manifest::ReadDirectFile - ReadDirectFileFromBuffer failed
[6] err=0 text=ManifestInfo::ReadDirectFileFromBuffer - manifest_partial tag failed
[5] err=0 text= FileManifest::ReadDIndirectFile - Download

then I click ok and get a "critical error" message. So my question is: is this fixable? how?

Im tired of all the BS thats going on lately.

did you tried to restart you PC?

if not try that reopen wow at then.
if it's not solving it I'm afraid you will have to redonwload, you can try to repaire.exe or so But i think its gone make the blizz patch happening to prevent you from connecting to private servers.

And just for the note. I suggest everyone to keep a copy of your wow in a .zip file on your PC so you don't get mess like this.

BTW this has nothing todo with the server DC'ing lol, its your wow client that crashed thats all.

i get that error when ever i try to load wow with the proxi enabled


sometimes not even the proxi can connecvt to the game server (yeah the connection sucks that bad) and the wow would crash

thats a proxifier issue. First open wow.exe and then any other network packet applications (proxifier is useless now btw).

Can you please be more clear then. You say you can't open wow. if you can't open wow it means you get an error when click on wow.exe not when you try to connect so instead of raging directly explain your issue a bit more clear if you want to get the good answers.


And everyone want a solution to the flood , I'm sure the GM's are not happy with whats going on nether so raging about it isn't really gone solve it nether. This is the best private server around in cata. so if you want to get better go to retail.

Exit out of Proxifier completely (make sure it's icon isn't near your clock, assuming you're running Windows, just closing the Proxifier window isn't enough).

Open WoW.exe

Restart Proxifier if you need a proxy, though the past couple days I've been able to stay connected without one pretty reliably. I read somewhere on here that the server was moved to Germany? That might be why.

Hi. I have also just downloaded wow torrent and launcher and getting this error too. ive restarted my laptop and double clicked on wow.exe without opening anything else, and have disabled browser proxy. I also get a message after installing the launcher stating this has not been installed correctly, idk if thats the cause of it...

If this problem is resolved ill make a donation of atleast 1 months sub
