Enemy render distance.

So I just started playing on the server and I've noticed that I have to practically be right on top of a mob for it to be visible. It's ridiculous. I really think that the radius needs to be increased. What do you guys think?

It's not about the "render distance" but the phasing. Tl;dr if you're in some area X and another mob is in area Y you cannot see it. We did this due to some limitations on our current patch, but may be improved / removed at all once we move to a different patch.

For now, it will stay this way.

Hello metacooler,

View distance is limited to 50 yards in the open world (this is not active in Dungeons, Raids, BGs, Arenas or otherwise instanced areas) to reduce server load, increasing performance and lowering lag.

It has been active for a long time and to my knowledge there are no plans to change it.
