Bug description: the Last topic about this was rejected because of the person who closed it misunderstood the issues. Currently, when the server crashes and or restarts it does not save settings like chat setup and other misc settings. Note this has nothing to do with our side this is an issue on your guy's side of things. So if I were to setup custom channels and log out and then back in it is perfectly fine and saved. Though once the server crashes and or restarts it complete wipes settings on certain things like chat setup and channel and stuff. This is a very annoying bug and has been reported already though rejected for whatever reasons. Please take a moment and look into the issue before rejecting this bug report because it is a real issue.

Proof: I'll try to pick up some proof though won't be easy since Idk when the server will restart/crash. The dev can easily test this by going on their PTR setup chat with some custom settings and then restart/crash the PTR and log in and it will be reset too.

This is correct and it has been tested by myself and another addon dev as well and we are 100% sure this is an issue somewhere on your end. Basically, chat settings will reset and so on. Doesn't matter if you are using the default UI or not. This isnt related to a saved database on addons because that works fine.

This file gets reset on a server crash/reset/restart

I am currently unsure about other files in the location that are being reset as well though I know for sure this one does get reset.

Same here, after server or client crash most of my interface options, macros, chat window/channel are lost/reset... have to re-log like 3-4 times until it somehow restores.

Alright so this just happened. It happend when I got a random disconnect. The server was fine but I randomly DC'ed when I fel rushed. When I logged back in my interface was reset.

Alt - F4 most likely the same thing as EXIT @ menu. To avoid this I always /logout then alt f4

There are situations when game won't let you log-out nor exit game(like stuck in some instance with never-ending combat, or in arena match where "leave arena" is not working), and u have to alt-f4.[/b]

i think it's because the character don't disconnect correctly after an alt+f4 normaly it disappear after 20 sec it's the time to save all of the character setting and it's the same in all the world same to the city
just the client disconnect instantly

We implemented this mechanic to not instantly logoff players if they get a random disconnect (internet connection lag/spikes/disconnects). When they login they're in the exact same spot like nothing happened (didn't lose agro, buffs, etc, etc)

Not sure if this is the reason of the settings fail, will investigate
