How to improve your settings [FPS]

Greetings Freakz community.

I'm not sure did i made this post before since my main forum account got banned (Thank you Empyrium), but i'll post it again for new players which are having trouble with FPS in DS on their older PC's.

So... If your settings are all reduced to minimum and your PC is still strugling at Zon, Yor and Hagara, here's a set of macros you can make to reduce settings below minimum and thus get 10+ FPS more than you used to have with "minimum settings"

First macro:

/console m2Faster 1

/console hwPCF 1
/console shadowlod 0
/console timingmethod 1
/console showshadow 0
/console showfootprints 0
/console showfootprintparticles 0

Second macro:

/console overridefarclip 0
/console farclip 177
/console horizonfarclip 1305

/console groundeffectdensity 16

Third macro:

/console groundeffectdist 1
/console smallcull 1
/console skycloudlod 1
/console characterAmbient 1
/console extshadowquality 0
/console environmentDetail 0.5


After making these three macros, drag them to your action bars and click them in a order you made them. Depending on your PC, you should get between 10 to 20 FPS more than you used to have. Some guy told me that he got 15+ FPS on Zon where he used to play in "slideshow's" so i guess you got nothing to lose.


PS: If you're not happy with results since your WoW will probably look shitty, you can just drag that "dragger" under settings to minimum and all these settings will be reverted.

I've been using those macros for a while now and I can say that they are actually working and they increased mine perfomance(FPS) a bit. Worth trying if you got bad fps

I tried using these macros, but they didn't really seem to work at the time I used them. They didn't have the usual loading screen after they were used and the graphics didn't have an obvious change in quality, only change I saw was the View distance option. Now it's on Custom instead of Low.

While this is nice, I don't think it'll help everyone having FPS issues. For example, I've got normally, say, 70 fps (when not on laptop). One time I went to arena and when gates opened, my fps was dropping to ~10 for no reason. Found out my weapon transmog was causing that. Since then I still had the issue every now and then, mostly in arenas. Later I changed the client and so far no issues.
