[DUPLICATE] [Priest][Shadow] Damage in pvp

Bug description: I don't know if it's something general or it affects only dots but I think spriest deals too much damage in pvp right now.
As a point of comparison I took Vampiric Touch and SW Pain
here in arena vt did ~65k noncrit on average and 100k crit on average with a maximum 145k
and sw pain did ~31k noncrit on average

But watching 7.1.5 matches in later stages it seems that vt dealt ~35k noncrit on average and sw pain ..something like 20-25k
Anyway the damage is way bellow what we have here.

at 865 ilvl i do 24k non crit and 37k crit on swp and 42k non crit 63k crit on vt without void form in pvp

How is that even possible to do 90k pain tick, and 185k vp tick, wihout that honor talent with 30% more dmg when 100 instanity.

A good answer would be the nerfs through hidden auras 8% I believe, let's wait for that fix and then see if the damage is too high.

What ?! I do alot of bg's (over 150 done) and every single SP i see regarding ilvl does at least 150k+ crits with VT according to my dmg meter addon. Ive seen it even tick for 200k.

This is base dmg in pvp. In BG's u have a lot of dmg incresed: twist of fate 20%, berserk buff 30%, disc priest talent with 15%, flag carriers also take increased dmg.Also in void form u get 25% and for every sec spent in void form u get 2% increased dmg on vt and swp.
I have 35 traits, 866 ilvl and i don't play at san' layn wich increases dmg of vt by 20%.

In pvp have huge damage meanwhile in pve is a bullshit...

the only addon you should use for damage metering is "skada" with only [damage] and [tweaks] option enabled.

Whatever the guy above said, ATM Spriests's damage is a joke in PvP. 10k non crit dots combined with the insane amount of 100k mind blasts that we never get to cast unless the DPS that trains us is bad enough. Straight back to the point, as you can see in the video i am about to provide, the Spriest's VT crits for 120k ish without voidform and SW:P constantly hits for 40k. On our server tho, SW:P barely hits more that 15k non crit and VT usually hits around 25k-30k. I know gear matters here as well but i am 887 . Feast your eyes.

So you're complaining about the dots dmg because is too high, in case you don't know these are our main damage spells, thanks to voidform we have 20% increase on the dmg, and thanks to some traits even more. Just cc a shadow priest when he is in voidform and he will become useless. The damage is right.

hmm.. this bug report is from longer than a month ago
And in the meantime I didn't see anymore big vt numbers .
So maybe there were some nerfs to hidden auras like Seyrox said in the post above :

this topic needs some attention - 150k crits from vampiric touch really hurt in PvP instances taking into account how easy is to get full insanity and go burst again and again and again

Ofc if you let the shadow priest cast freely in the backline it is easy to deal damage. As a shadow priest main i don't know what is the "burst" are you talking about. Vampiric Touch is the strongest spell, so it is normal to deal damage, and 150k crit is not even much lol. They invented things like Dispell and Interupt in pvp, so you avoid the damage from casters, and I guarantee you, if you cc a priest corectly he loses all his Voidfrom stacks, and also all his damage. Oh, and it is not even easy to do that huge "burst" you are talking about, since you need about 40 seconds in Voidform to gather the stacks, and only then the Vampiric Touch will do the "insane" 150k dmg (as a crit).

150k tick on a dot(+sw pain another "small number")...with under 10 stacks of passive..meh, what's the big deal, anyone can heal that.(or not)
Add some haste from the same passive and you melt anything down.
An affli warlock does that damage with 2 or 3 Unstable afflictions combined.

I don't say that the number is enormous but it is really big and i have seen 200k crits VT( not just 150k) which is way too big for a dot.

Thank you for teaching me how to play in PvP, i will tell my healers that they should dispell everything they see on me(going full raid mode with DBM in arenas/bgs and shit f**k the 8 sec cc, clear the dots!) and my fellow dps to intrerupt every possible spell to avoid the wipe.

With these tips i will do arenas and bgs on mythic difficulty now, thank you very much.
