Bug description: Elvenking,first of all thanks for spending your tine doing the maths but you forgot taking in consideration that the dmg showed in the print showed it was against a demo warlock,which has 20% permanent reduction and plus a trait that says you get 40% dmg reduction when you drop below 35% health.
Proof: So our concern still stands and it will be nice if you can test again and see if you are still right.

+ you used Train of Thought which in case you cant use it arena,especially in 3vs3 arenas because as a mage you will be trained 24/7 so thats it out of the case

You gave yourself the answer on how he does 1m without the 15% extra I had.

My proof merely shows that the dmg scales properly with all increase effects the mage has.
I can also calc the base 60k if needed but from some testing on dmg w/o weapon and then adding the boni it gives everything looks fine.

In case you didn't read what Resonance does:



Debugging from 1 image alone is hard but the facts I can gather are:
-Arcane Barrage had 3 casts and 9 hits, so each of them hit atleast 3 targets or he had one hitting maybe 4 bec of pets, who knows.
-Looking at your screen there is also a target list shown and it had 3 with more than 1m, so probably resonance had atleast 3 on its big crit (maybe 4 if pets get less dmg from it)
-The screen does not show that the 1m hit was on the warlock, it just shows that some target got it (so either lock, shaman or pet).

This means the resonance dmg modifier was around +75% or +100% dmg to arcane barrage.
If you substract this (3 target 75%) now to a 1 target hit you end up with following maths:
- 1046211 / 1.5 = 679474 non crit dmg
- 679474 / 1.5 = 464982 non crit dmg on 1 target (removed 50% dmg from Resonance)
- 464982 * 1,5 = 679474 crit dmg on 1 target (ok useless that we end up with the same number but I just wanted to first remove the crit modifier)

In the end I can calculate all I want, there is not enough info to get out of a screen showing it had 1m hit on something...

The dmg of arcane mage simply scales properly, if there is not some hidden pvp nerf we are missing it is useless to further create topics about some screens that provides almost no relevant information.
For example arcane power does 60% Pve and 45% pvp, Rune of Power 40% Pve 30% pvp, I am refering to nerfs like that

this is what i’m saying,that you did 1 mil with train of thought on one target,i think it gets to much dmg increase with multiple targets,and 1 mil on a instant cast with 20% dmg reduce without other external dmg increases.If you will do some arenas against good arcane mages and you just blink and wake up dead,and im not the only crazy one here,everyone complains about it,because since the beggining classes got hotfixes and now mage is 2 times stronger than other classes.
I’ll try to find more proofs.But this you should now that a lot finds this spec overpowered.

Then stay spread against arcane mage and use no pets, because each target gives him 25% more dmg increase.
It's as simple as that, ofc the increase is huge if you add 25% to 600k you are at 750k, another 25% and you are at 900k.
Give the mage no chance to aoe dmg you and you reduce the threat by a lot. Can't give more advice than that from reading how the spells scale.

The only thing that "could" be bugged there is how Resonance should work itself, refering to this blizz forum it should work like it currently does:

Still the class has huge oneshot potential if their burst cd "Arcane Power" is off cooldown, but every class has their burst cds you have to play around...

well arcanes were not so ppular on this patch,i will look for what hotfixes arcane mages have had.

the video where you say the damage was like on freakz,was posted on 12 january 2017,but the hotfixes that affected arcane were made on 17 january,check the hotfixes from that date .

on freakz a lot or classes got hotfixed,and thats why other classes can’t stand a chance against arcane,because no hotfix was done to it,you were right about the calculations but you didnt consider the hotfixes,im sure that no hotfix affected arcane mage here.It will be nice if you can make this post a priority so other classes have a chance in the pvp brackets,you can check the armory yourself and that arcanes are in the top of every bracket.Thank you for your time .

Devs are working on 725 and won't check this anytime soon.
I just got the information that all hotfixes where implemented listed in this "Hotfixes: March 21" topic.

All the hotfixes have been implemented since long time ago by the dev.
