Is The Violet Hold bugged? If so, anybody know how to get rep with The Kirin Tor.

Equipping Tabard of the Kirin Tor and running WOTLK dungeons is certainly a way of getting reputation. You could also do the Fishing and Cooking dailies, which award about 300-500 reputation per quest completion. An alternative to all this would be buying Commendation badges. Just click on it and find out who can sell them.
One last thing, if you can't use the tabard for some reason, (Requires Kirin Tor - Friendly) do a few quests from Amber Legde zone (which is in Borean Tundra).
