Server population

I think that am not the only one who starts to notice that server reached it's peak at beeing (5411) online player's. And now it kinda goes slowly the other way around. Question is why it happens like that, in my opinion server stuff is doing a great job by fixing things and making game more enjoyable. My self from time to time, got the same idea about stepping out and main reason to it is lacking of PvP in server. Am not talking about bg's but arenas, expansion screwed PvP but not the way it is in here, in here it's like completly dead. I would like to hear from those people who kinda stepped out from server or is thinking to do it, reason why are they gonna do it or did.

I can say for my guild alot of people have stepped out currently because of school or work etc other then that its generally what happens.

im kinda curious about this too, im just coming back to the game after being abscent from it since WotLK, coming to this server, while it downloads im trying to gather a bit information about it, mostly population on each faction, i saw from the statistics that 60% of the population are horde, i was kinda looking foward to play as a worgen druid but i also dont want to walk around empty cities. Just saw a introductory video of worgen first hour from someone playing in this same server and dunno if it was because he wasnt playing at peak time, or there is a new gathering city (like i mentioned, i havent played since WotLK and it was on a different server) but when he arrived to Stormwind the streets that i used to see full of people back on my old server several years ago now looked deserted to me, he only came across a single person on his way to the exit.

is this normal? this discourages me a little to play ally. i havent seen any recent videos of the server with ppl in Ogrimmar so i dunno if its normal or just alliance being 20% less

There is no problem with server populations. Highest peak population is on friday and weekend.

Rest assured there is over 4.8k players daily.

That's actually not true, last weekend the peak was 5350ish+, there can't be a new record every weekend but since the numbers are ~similar each weekend that's a very good thing, especially considering what budbomer said regarding some players now being busy with school/etc.
