Hi,

I've recently started on this server and I've ran into an issue where none of my character specific settings are being saved. Changes that get recorded to the Config.wtf are fine but anything that needs to be set in my account specific files under wtf/account/ACCOUNTNAME is not being saved.

I've done a bit of troubleshooting and i think this might be my fault. I made my account from my phone and autocorrect added a space at the end of my account name and now I cant login to the game without adding that space at the end.

After I login to the game a folder gets created under wtf/account/ as my account name without the space as windows does not accept space as a final character for the folder name. No other files are created in that folder regardless of the settings I change (camera distance, addon placement on screen etc). I've verified all the read only settings and I'm running wow.exe as admin so I can't think of anything else that can be causing this other than that darn space at the end of my account name.

so...that being said, is it possible to rename my account without the space? Another option I was thinking is to see if its possible to move my 3 characters to a new account but I'm not sure how much effort is involved or if it's an acceptable request.

Uncheck the WTF Folder for Read-Only option.

I did that as well as running as admin and the problem remains

EDIT: I also tried adding a space to my account folder under WTF\Account by renaming the folder and typing ALT+0160 to add a trailing space. Unfortunately this did not work either, the next time I logged on it created a new ACCOUNTNAME folder without the space. No matter what changes I make it does not make any files or folders in that folder. I've even got as far as copying files from another server (same WoW version and in-game character names) and renaming the realm folder to Genesis but this did not work. I assume reading the config files has the same problem as writing to them...the space is making life difficult.

EDIT#2: One of the admins helped me get this fixed! Thanks a ton for the amazing support guys!

Can you please pass on what you did? I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but I am getting the intro movie and the addon prompt every time I login. I tried the read/write cache option, but still having the same irritating thing! Thanks for any help Kenn
