2/10 for effort, more on topic: They could try promoting 3's by giving them a reward of some sort, vote points for every X games played or something weird that does not give them a beneficial advantage over other players.

Anyways, to get on topic, disabling 2v2 would be a bad decision, since people will just get mad and quit altogether.
As palobre suggested, a viable way would be to offer some kind of rewards for 3v3 (mounts, vote points, titles, you name it).

On topic : Maybe lower the rating required in order to buy elite gear to something doable ? The 3s team with the highest rating (1,7k at this moment) is not even close to 2,2k due to the lack of high rated opponents.Not even mentioning 5s , practically it doesn't exist on Exodus.

No, the additional item requirements such as rating and other currency items are stored locally therefore if you need to alter the prices you need to modify your ItemExtendedCost.dbc file in your wow client and that might cause inconsistencies between clients.

about giving rewards for doing certain amounts of 3v3s, thats stupid. peapol dont do 3s becouse they know no1 que's its a cycle that goes on.
peapol dont que cuz they know they either sit in a 3 hour que and then face either wintraders or r1 teams, and stop queing seying the same thing every single full cata player seys, no1 que's

2v2s = most unballanced way of pvp out ther, there are 2 kinds of teams, teams that global any1 (rogue hunter-feral hunter - mage/rogue)
or healer teams that either get globald or 80% of the time win the fight (dk/sammy - feral/priest) u got my train of thouchts.

now 3v3s is a complately diffrent from both bgs - 2v2s but most players in private servers dont even realise what exactly 3v3s is becouse 80% of all servers 3v3s are pretty much dead, besides ofc AT (which im currently playing), but playing a instant 85 pvp server is just diffrent.

Back on topic:I'm also interested in finding out how they want to stimulate 3v3.And quite frustrated as to why they didn't give an answer by now.
Apart from lowering the requirements on the weapons I don't see any other way to take the typical WOW Freakz player and make him play 3's.Not to mention that there are players who just do the weekly 8 wins and when they are full cata they just roll bgs to kill the green ones.Therefore,I highly doubt 3v3 will be up and running here any time soon.

Considering the low skill cap that the majority of WoW Freakz has just imagine how hard it will be to find partners.There are people who don't know how things go in a 2v2 match ...not to mention 3v3.Even I tried several players 2v2 and ended up playing with my irl buddy(who is 1700 material).
I can just imagine how hard it will be to get a 3v3 team going....finding the right members/learning the comp then joining 3v3 and ultimately getting destroyed by teragosa and fangs.

As it stands at 0 rating/1450 MMR some friends of mine actually met 1800/2100 rated players for 10 games in a row (way to go on your mmr reset and update);just imagine how 3's will feel to them.
Anyways,I bet me and the whole community would love at least a small glimpse at what you have in stall for "arousing" 3v3's ,Freakz.
