Bug description: Earth Elemental doesn't taunt, just attacks the target or sometimes not even your target but a random one.

I've also had this issue. The elemental just auto-attacks for poor damage, making it effectively worthless.

Seems to be a issue with its threat generation, you can easily take aggro from it by just casting a few spells.
