There is a specific thread in this section for pet battles reports, if you would post there next time it would be nice for the sake of having a clean forum.

Now, this ability is not bugged. Most abilities that last one or more turns will immediately take effect if the user is faster so what happened to you is normal : the catacomb snake was faster than you so his blinding poison took effect immediately on top on taking effect on the following as it should be no matter what, except if the ability missed for some reason.

This ability is very strong and this is why it was nerfed in the past from 3 turns cooldown to 4. You check this video :
