Human: Rasa nativa din Azeroth, una dintre cele mai tinere, insa si una dintre cele mai populate.

Dwarf: Creaturi robuste si curajoase, una dintre rasele cu "curse of flesh". De asemenea le place sa bea.

Gnomi: Creaturi pitice. Sunt maestri in tehnologie si sunt una din cele mai inteligente rase din Azeroth.

Night Elf: Una dintre cele mai "batrane" rase native din Azeroth. Maestri in druidism.

Draenei: Cea mai batrana rasa din Azeroth. Sunt o rasa extraterestra care serveste "Lumina".

Worgen: Humani infectati cu "curse of worgen", care ii transforma in oameni-lup.

Orc: Rasa foarte puternica nativa din Draenor. Au ajuns in Azeroth cu scopul de a-l invada, atunci cand au baut sange de demon.

Troll: Una dintre rasele "batrane" ale Azeroth-ului. Darkspear trolls vor recapata Echo Isles in Cataclysm.

Tauren: Rasa pasnica, iubesc natura si sunt una din rasele fondatoare ale Hoardei.

Undead: Inainte erau "sclavii" lui Lich King. Sylvanas i-a eliberat de sub controlul sau si de atunci sunt cunoscuti ca si "Forsaken".

Blood Elf: (ei sunt prea *** ca sa merite vreun comentariu)

Goblini: membri ai Bilgewater Cartel, acestia s-au alaturat Hoardei dupa ce nesimtita, dezgustatoarea, oribila Alianta (cea mai nasoala factiune) era aproape sa-i omoare pe toti in timpul unei lupte (a carei scop era capturarea lui Thrall) cu flota Hoardei.
