Descrierea bugului / Bug description: Ignite does insane damage, on normal bosses I d say around 200%, on something like Halfus it s like 400%. On recount or skada or w/e are you using, the best current mages in 4.3 do 35k avg ignite tick on Halfus 25 HC. Here 60k isn t a prob, even tho it s 4.0.6 with barely any bosses out.
Dovada / Proof: I only PvE, so I m not that into fixing stuff with class I don t play... save your combat log, go to one of those combatlog sites like worldoflogs, upload it and check the difference with others. hf

I explained this on the other ignite topic, it doesn't stack like it should...(only 2 ignites can stack if the spells are in air at the same time and bouth crit for ignite), here its buged, they can stack even if the spells or not in the air, just trow them as soon as posible(hotstreaks) and stay in close range of the boss

Ignite should stack it's because of the buffs that dosen't work fine on fire mages!

At the moment ignite appears to proc itself when any of its ticks are crits, sometimes causing a chain of DoTs.

Also, just tested Ignite, bugged like HELL. Actually hell is a chaotic not buggy, but you get my point.

Chestia cu ignite-u de da imba dmg se intampla numai la halfus din cate am observat. Daca voi ati observat k da imba tick si la alti bosi va astept cu print-uri.
Si asa ati mai postat aiurea si in loc sa repare a stricat spelu, de ex la bladestorm/hand of freedon si master call. Daca nu credeti testati si voi.

Nu e numai la halfus.....dau magii asa si la valiona...si la omnotron si la maloriak sunt top dps cu mult peste restu...cu 50-60-70...prinzand 180k la omnotron cu balta cu tot...si m-am uitat in recount avea ignite prins crit de 200k si nu doar 1...mai multe la rand..si la maloriak la fel si la valiona..ma ales in burstu de inceput nu era 1 sa nu ia disconnect (mage).

its kinda wierd how ignite works here, specially on halfus where you get 300/500% dmg modifier, or even on omnotron pool, its going crazy, but looks ok on other fights like valiona, sh priets or hunters can easily out dps me if i dont get benefit from engulfing and they do, even if i get, dmg is not so outstanding there. on maloriak hc mages are op because of godlike aoe on viles.

and for the topic starter, your statement is fail when you said best mages in 4.3 can have avg 35k ignite on halfus :d they can do lot more, u have to think more before you write something dude /if you just see the mechanic of ignite, 40% of the critical strike, do u want to tell me, that they can crit only 90k on halfus with fireball or pyro? i do 200k~ with pyroblast and thats trigger 80k ignite, and im shorter with 3k sp than 4.3 mages lol

but one for sure, sometihng not ok with ignite and would be good to fix it asap, and fixing is not meaning nerfing to the ground lol... but sometimes so crap when im in full herioc which dropable now, and some repu gear mage can dps me down if he is lucky with crits ^^

Several people in this post have no ideea how Flashburn and Ignite work. They just see the recount and start QQ, "omg mage bugged". Funny thing, now they cry that Ignite does more damage than it should, which is false, not when the mage had 2 skills totaly bugged, HotStreak and Improved Hotstreak. So stop speaking nonsense, bring proof that ignite is bugged, formulae and calculation for Ignite and Flashburn. Anyway, just in case ignite will be changed i have pics and movies from tests done each week.

First of all its not only at halfus.
I did some test on ignite stacking( on blizz you can do this only if two spells are in air at the same time and when they hit they crit for ignite- example you cast fireball+pyroblast(hotstreak) or you cast pyroblast and while casting hotstreak procs from earlier spell, and you end up casting a pyroblast and a instant pyroblast( if they crit for ignite the ignite stacks).
Picture time
First the ignite- 40771 tick.

Second pyroblast - the casted one(highest crit- 27682)

Third pyrblast!- the pyroblast from hotstreak proc(highest crit- 30671)

Now we are gonna try to reproduce the ignite from 2 of the highest crits and stack them together to see if they do a 40k ignite tick.
40% from 27682 is 11072,8
40% from 30671 is 12268.4
Stack them up and you get 23341.2, not 40771.
Also 23341.2 should burn over 4 secounds-2 ticks- so it should be 11670.6 every 2 seconds for 4 seconds, and my ignite did 40771 every 2 seconds fro 4 seconds.
I didn't use combustion.
How can ignite do more dmg then the highest crit with a spell(in this case pyroblast!)?
What about mastery you say?
Well how much mastery do i need to go from 11670.6 to 40711....
It stacks wrong.
@moonshards just because you don't know how to exploit this it doesn't mean that its not bugged and others don't use it.

I m sure that with your intelligence you ll be able to figure out how to find average ignite here. If you re that eager about "thinking before writing", I m also sure that you won t mind going into a raid with a mage or two, recording the combat log, posting it on that website and then wondering what exactly just happened. Although with that sick math you ve just pulled out there you don t even need to, eh?

EDIT: Nvm, finished reading your post and figured out you wouldn t be able to, so here it is:

Now the pug mage I ve been to a raid today with... I ve uploaded the combat log and the number was 60 926.1. Close enough, right?

If you feel like you have a lot of time on your hands, go and do your own research. I ve entered arena 10 times exactly with my hunter; yet to see a fire mage there and I think I ve done 2 BGs in overall. Beforehand QQing about ppl hating mages and that you re underpowered and what not. Thanks for reading.

halfus has 400% incresed damage. Valiona has 200% from engulfing , omotron has that buff wich can be spellstealed and that blue circle.

you have to be realy retarded to think that ignite is working as intended.

actualy the whole fire spec is bugged as hell. i haven't seen mages on retail playing fire in pve untill 4.3, and on freaks is best spec
