Earlier on 4.0.6 this was possible

You can't transmog between guns/bows/crossbows either.

This is Main Hand only, so you can't transmog One Hand and Off-hand daggers into it.

On 4.0.6 you could transmog one-hand dagger into main-hand or off-hand, it was matter of in which slot the item you wanted to xmog was equiped.
As far as I remember our custom xmog had same rules as the real one. If not then it must've been glitch :S

That was on 4.0.6. I tried to do it now, on 4.3.4 and I couldn't.

Let Shockeru or someone who played retail durning 4.3.4 enlighten us.

Transmogrification is a unique feature itself, and you are correct. The way transmogrification works is that you are incapable of changing the display of an item outside of its category. For example, an Off-Hand weapon can not be used in the transmogrification of a Main-Hand weapon.

So, I could not use Maimgor's Bite for the transmogrification of Eye of Purification simply because of their weapon type (Off-Hand and Main-Hand.) I hope this clears some of the confusion.

Well, I belive you can put "main-hand" and "off-hand" look on "one-hand" weapons, like daggers. I could do it myself on 4.0.6.
OP want to put a "main-hand" look on another dagger which is proly "one-hand" so it should be possible. Else if he's actualy trying to put it on an "off-hand" dagger.

OP probably wants to transmog 2x one hand into an offhand dagger which he linked in his post.

the reason you could do it in 4.0.6 was because that was a custom made script, with the actual 4.3 transmog you can't

Thanks, now everything seems clear.
It must've been a glitch on 4.0.6.
However, it's still a little bit confusing as staff releasing custom transmog stated it has same rules as the real one.
