It's a general bug with all pets, they don't start using the ability until you click/use it once... and other bug (this bug occurs if you click any auto cast spell like bite or claw) is that after the target dies the pet doesn't come back to master, it just stands there until you click Pet Fallow or Mount up.

Well, after more research seems that pets don't use some of their autocast abilities in passive or assist stance, in defensive stance works fine(for hunter pets)... not for Shadowfiend's shadowcrawl unfortunately.

With shadowwfiend thought, he doesn't use the ability by himself even when I click it once. Have to keep using it by myself.

Yea totally agree with that... When server moved to 4.3.4 it was working actually,i was surprised it does work here,i haven't meet this bug fixed anywhere.
