Greetings Freakz!

Sasha here, making a post to briefly introduce myself.
I've never played in a private realm before, and I'm seeking to join a friend who is going to be joining you again soon, once his DL finishes. (he hasn't played in a while either)
I've previously played on a legit live WoW server for over 5 years, and have just come back from a year's break from the game. (personal life stuff prevented me from being able to afford it)
I have recently returned because I miss Azeroth so very much (especially the battle pets and the flying).
I don't know how all this works, so I'm probably going to have a lot of questions initially.

One of them is - how does the toon transfer thing work, technically?
It just makes a copy of your toon and it's info, right? It doesn't actually remove it off the live server, right? Cos that'd be horrible!
I know too many people on my legit server! I like Khaz'goroth and it's crazy inhabitants!
I'm assuming also that stuff like battle pets do not transfer with you, much like mounts. (I've read the FaQ)
A bit of a bummer as the battle pets thing is one of the things I came back for, lol, but I'm sure I can get more.
I will still have all my pets on my live server, I guess.

Second question, when transferred, do you start lvl capped and naked...or do you at least come in what you're wearing?
If naked, I'm gonna need a good tailor to make me some nice civvies I can wear while herbing or pet battling...because that's the kinda weird stuff I like doing, lol!
And what happens if you're at like lvl 100, but go to a realm that is before Draenor? I assume it is scaled down automatically, or nothing would be a challenge.

Third question - I suppose any currently active WoW addons don't apply over to private servers? It's no big deal I guess, but stuff like this wasn't covered in the FaQ, so not sure and am asking. I really like Auctioneer and would be lost without it. I'm also partial to the pet addon, PetBattleTeams, but since I might not have any pets on transfer, it's not gonna matter for a long time -

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but I'll leave them for a later time if/when the become relevant.
