Bug description: if u summon your pet during dark soul buff (+30% mastery) hes melee damage will continue to benefit from dark soul even if it wears off. this means that in bgs or raids u can run around with 30% damage increased pet (wrathguard or felguard will benefit greatly from this since their ability damage is based on melee damage) if you dont die. the negative side is that when u have "normal" pet it wont benefit from dark soul. in other words pet snapshots mastery value when summoned while he should scale dynamically with ur current mastery
