getting kicked from game

I've experienced a lot of issues today.

First, I got kicked out because my launcher was out of date.
I restarted the game and then the server would respond to me (I couldn't interact with anything, cast any spells but chat messages and everyone around me seemed to be doing okay).
Then I tried to re-download the launcher and now I can't log in, it just stays at connecting.
And when I try to cancel and log in again, the login button gets greyed out.

And yes, I am using the launcher. Here's a picture showing the DLL loaded in wow-64.exe:

Getting stuck at connecting doesn't have anything to do with the actual launcher...

Well then this makes even less sense to me now, i just re-downloaded the launcher again and now runs fine (so far).
