the damage formula for eye beam, as of 7.1.5, is:

0.55 * TotalAttackPower * TotalDamageMultiplier * (1 + 0.06 * ArtifactTraitRank(ChaosVision))

that should give you the most original damage.

consider attack power, damage buffs like "solitude" and chaosvision artifact traits to calculate the damage.

if it was More that AskMrRobot's formula by a large amount, yes, it's bugged.

I think that Eye beam works ok.
I tested it some time ago with Rngbraindead and the damage was almost exactly like on blizz.

One thing to consider .
The dmg you took in arena.
The ~40k per tick was probably done while the demon hunter had 3 buffs : https://www.wow-freakz.com/spells.php?spell=211509 (wowhead link) 15% increase , https://www.wow-freakz.com/spells.php?spell=235893 (wowhead link) 10% increase and https://www.wow-freakz.com/spells.php?spell=206476 (wowhead link) 20% increase.

the demon hunter in the screen you provided didn't have any dmg increase.

And he did 2 hits = 52k
So one hit -26k

If we apply the increases from above we get:

26 x 1.10 x 1.15 x 1.2 = 39.5
That's very similar tot the damage you got in arena.

His partner was next to him, he was attacking me as well, check the combat log. Also the demon in the video had the 25% damage increase from killing a target with nemesis.

But the dmg is not twice, you have a lot of mistaken language about the dmg @Teni, not only here.
The dmg is almost +3k per tick, that means 30k after a complete Eye Beam, this is not twice )

And @Teni, when you post a SS with dmg, you post also with the buffs that has, 39k crit per tick on freakz Eye Beam is with Nemesis for sure and in your post is not with Nemesis, Momentum and even Solitude idk...make a post CORRECT, not put some shit.

Nobody is playing with nemesis on Freakz. His partner was next to him. We both died in 1 stun from 50% hp. Stop crying, you are carried by a broken Freakz class, deal with it. You are lucky nobody is doing pvp here, there are 5 teams maximum. On those clips he got 5 mil dmg in 2 mins here you are doing 10. People got no clue about their classes and they are talking about them like they know everything. Funny.

Dude you dindt see your class yet ,you can destroy healers from 100 % to 25 % without stun leaving them with 0 defs , ask every healer on this server who is more bugged a feral or a dh , stop making 100 post about you losing 1 arena with 600k per shred its ridiculous .

I don't know what is wrong with the DH but any retard who presses metamorphosis can melt 2.6 mil HP balance druid thourgh barskin under 10 seconds, he doesnt even have to know how to play the class, press 3 buttons do 3m damage (this is happening against random bg players without gear)
