How do you feel about the Retribution-Paladin right now?

well after the few fixxes several weeks ago about some Artefacttrait that double proct.

In my mainraid i felt really down in the dmgmeter and even get now beaten by classes that was before the fixxes under me.

I feel that the dps rightnow about retribution paladin is now kind not relevant beside his 2 buffs for raid.

What is your opinion.

The Paladin's DPS is terrible. This is real. No necessary arrangements are made. Most paladin players can not enjoy playing WOW. If you look at the game in general; You can see how much less retri paladins are in the raids.

I don't think you guys truly understand how DPS works. Especially for ret.

The big boss pull it's all that matters. It's when all your buffs get stacked together ! If you are screwing that up, if you don't make an impact you will fall behind because others will do that impact instead of you. Ofc thats RNG based. i die on the inside when i hit for 1 mil and not crit for 2 mil but it is what it is.
Atm it's harder to do that impact because potion of the old war isn't working...that's like 12% of your dmg in 2 wings !!! it gets buffed by the Crusade, legendary belt etc etc

Without that potion in Crusade i get to 900k-ish in burst if I get fairly lucky with crits but at best 1 mil. Outside of wings you are like 300-350 dps. Thats how important it is to not *** up your rotation in Crusade.

Tips :
Get a trinket that you can synnchronize with your Crusade CD (2MIN). BiS atm is Faulty Counter Measure because the dmg is getting buffed by wings and proc buffed by haste

Atm there is no gear to get optimized (Balanced haste and crit) for u to use Zeal so go for Fires of Justice. Even if you donate full bis you'll still go for Fires of Justice since the legendary cloak is bis and there's no other choice when you have it.

For a much smoother burst, if you can, stack up your holy power just before engaging your main target. For example at ilgynoth before the last 2-3 bloods die keep your holy power for the chamber so you can burst it at the highest potential, or for the sister at Cenarius.

Don't get mastery unless you get a higher ilvl item(more Strength)

Your rotation has to be perfect during Crusade and it can be hard with all the stacks and bloodlust up so keep practicing.


TL:DR It works fine. We just need our dear potion to burst even more. Remember we still have supporting ability to our raid / party and also we are top tier Healears and Tanks, DPS is not the thing that defines us 100%. If ret was top notch ,as the other specs, you'll see only paladins around.

Honestly, ret pala dps is weak...Because they dont fix the class.

By only having mediocre sustain dps and low-ish mobility is doesnt't make it weak if you know how to play. Idk what's so hard tho...it's the easiest spec to pick-up and do well fast

@Lesk would you use a 860 FCM or 870 Chrono Shard(my other trinket is Memento of Angerboda)?Also when old war gets fixed(and hopefully pre-pot) will you use it in the opener or do you still go prolonged?

I know how to play paladin, atm this class can't reach a higher dps level then 300k MAX. I'm 870 and currently I deal only 260k on Cenarius. So the class is broken atm.

Then i guess you must prove the bug and maybe fix the ret...i wouldn't mind doing more than 520k at cenarius

i have 882 ilvlon my pally.the stats: 28 crit , 24 haste 26 mastery. And i can only do 350-400k dps on currently. And i have Nature's Call(865ilvl) and Nightmare Egg Shell(870) ilvl. Another classes doing 600-650 k dps on currently i can only 350k max dps. Also , i have legendary back and waist you know they are bis for pally.

My stats are 32.5% Crit 17.20% Haste 3.56% Versa and 23% mastery

Natures call is bad for ret and nightmare egg shell has low ppm thats why your dps is lower.
