Transmog vote question

Greetings.

I'm currently looking for an eyepatch transmog for my warrior, but so far there's no such thing as head piece of plate armor that looks like an eyepatch only from mail and leather pieces. There's one that is a bit close that is from engineering, but is more than a piece of tech than an actual eyepatch.

My questin is... if i were to buy one of those with vote points to my warrior, would it work for him? i really want an eyepatch and don't want to spend points just to be a waste.

If you're talking about one of the tech-looking headpieces from Engineering, you'd need the actual skill level in the profession to use them as far as I know.

However, it is mail armor, and my final question is: Can my warrior use it as a transmog if i were to buy this item with vote points? or is unable to because you can't transmog a plate helmet with a mail item?
