Can something be done about this spam please? Even blocking does nothing because more people just come or on alternate accounts. The odd Thunderfury link is all good but constantly spamming is just stupid.

seriusly though, i doubt there will ever be something done about this because its a wow meme as old as vanilla, because it was a weapons that took literally months to farm, and because up to this day it has one of the longest names of any weapon, it has become an internet joke, and its common when someone links it for everyone else to follow trough. it happens even on retail a lot (just type wow thunderfury spam in google and see the images you get).

i know the spam might get out of hand at times, but you´re basically asking devs to censor one of wow´s oldest and most known memes to vanilla players so i doubt something will ever be done agaisnt it. Its like asking them to ban people for runing ahead wildly and screaming Leroy Jenkins

i started playing wow back at tbc so i didnt live the joke creation and also found it quite anoying at times, however after researching its origins and understanding the joke now i find it hilarious

Maybe on lower pop servers it wasn't as much of an issue.

People do get muted for spamming thunderfury. GMs may not be online all of the time or may just not care enough to stop it at that point in time. (Busy doing something else more important)

If you don't like people spamming thunderfury, use your ignore list. Not much else to say really, it's rare you get more than a handful of people actually "spamming" thunderfury. You usually only have a few people legitimately spamming it while others may link it once or twice.
