Don't think its related to sudden doom procs. We can breakdown this video for the 1st DA hit which basically takes Sudden doom out of the picture.

This guy does not use pot, flask or food and he is not using any porc trinkets.

You can see a weak aura on the top-left side of his health bar to track each DA hit as well as the number of Deathcoils casted during those hits.
Death coils used were 2 = 90%damage.
The concordance proc was worn-off split seconds before the 1st cast landed so i won't add it into the calculation.

so going by freakz numbers he should hit for...

40,334*1.21(Unholy Strength)*2.2*1.92*(mast+vers)*1.15(artifact)*1.40(shoulders)*1.90(2 death coils)
= 630,608

but what he actually hit for:
764,687 non-crit. You can check on details meters @18:33

Difference?
of almost 20% damage.

i think the valkyre does not recieve any increase per runic spent , because i get the same numbers even if i cast 10 death coils = 450 % increase , and if i dont spend any runic its still the same numbers

I tried myself.

So they're almost exaclty the same than the guy on the video. I also had the same proc (master of ghouls + fallen crusader)
I used 2 Death Coil => Dark Transformation => Dark Arbiter : 699 760. His damage was 764 687. So a difference of 9.27%.


I tried again with 2 Death Coil => Dark Transformation => Dark Arbiter => 2 Death Coil : 1 031 272.
His second hit of Dark Arbiter with the same cast order was 1 126 907 (pause video at 17:47). So again, 9.3% difference.

So to me the difference is constant and is ~9.3% lower than retail.


EDIT : I tried again with the exact same stats by changing some items : https://i.imgur.com/JO5uvlO.png
DA hit for 676 438 dmg, so a difference of 13%.

Let me correct some of the things:

His first cast hits for 764687
By calculations it should be 40,334*1.21(Unholy Strength)*2.2*1.9(mastery)*1.02(vers)*1.1(artifact1)*1.05(artifact2)*1.05(uhdk passive)*1.40(shoulders)*1.90(2 death coils) = 671252
So indeed, its first cast is different. even his second and third. But after that, using the exact same formula from above, we can get precise results for every cast:

That is 40334 * 1.21 * 2.2 * 1.9 * 1.02 * 1.1 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.4 * 3.25 = 1,148,195

Same calculations give the correct result.

It does 1,311,569

By calculations it should be 40334 * 2.2 * 1.9 * 1.02 * 1.1 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.4 * 3.7 = 1,080,310
But it's 1,311,569.

Let's add back Unholy Strength: 1080310*1.21 = 1,307,176

It's correct. I have a reaaaaaalllly strong feeling that blizzard "extends" buffs for the DA (such as concordance, unholy str, stuff that modifies AP) for the duration of the Confusion Time.
For example if the DA stays around for 2.5 seconds, all the buffs that expire from the DK, will linger for 2.5s more on the DA.

This is confirmed for the first cast as well. Concordance disappeared from the dk by the time it hit, but let's try the same calculations with the bonus from it:

(40334 + 5600(rank 5 concordance)) * 1.21 * 2.2 * 1.9 * 1.02 * 1.1 * 1.05 * 1.05 * 1.4 * 1.9 = 764449 vs 764687. Almost perfectly the same

Discuss... However I feel like the results are pretty obvious, and it would make sense.
In 7.3 blizzard extended the duration of the Dark Arbiter by the Confusion Timer (meaning it would stand around for 2.5s at the beginning, but the total duration would be 22.5s and not 20s). Maybe in 7.2.5 instead of extending DA, they extended the buffs that affect him. Only thing is that SIMC does not confirm my theory, only the 7.3 extension.

Yes I think you are right, I did the same testing as before but with concordance buff : DA hit for 770 000 dmg.
So you're confirming a bug right ? All buffs on DK that modifies AP should last 2.5 seconds longer for the Dark Arbiter ?

I will most probably cache the spells that were active during the confusion time and prolong their duration by min(durationLeft, confusionTime).

So if you pop DA with 10s on concordance, it will last 2.5s longer, but if you had only 1s left, it's gonna last 1s longer.

That makes sense?

Can we get a rough idea as to how much is the minimum time on the buff it would take to have max duration after it expires.
Coz in the video spell was casted at around 4secs remaining on the buff. And it lasted up untill 1-2-3 casts (as u stated in your previous post that those 3 hits are the ones that are being affected).

7.3+ simc Dark Arbiter has duration 20 + confusion time + 1. That allows a lot more casts.

You had 18.52 executes with 1.19s per execute, that's already 22+ seconds. Which is not possible in 7.2.5

Yes you are right, I used 7.3...

14*1.25(cast timr with 60% haste)=17.5s, which is exactly how much you get on 7.2.5 with 2.5s confusion time

Yes it was my mistake sorry.
I tried with 7.2.5 version and got 15.2 executes, I got 1 more cast because of the randomness of the confusion time ?
So apart from buffs that should last longer on DA, I don't see anything else wrong with DA.

I know one more: if the DA expires and disappears while the last missile is in the air, that missile will deal no damage. I intend to fix that too (that might get you to 15 casts as well)
