Macros disappear

I don't know whether to post it here or in the bug report section, but I gotta ask if anyone has a quick solution to this problem.
All my general and character specific macros have been deleted after first log-in/out, and creating new macros does not work either as logging out erases them. I have tried logging out after creation, using .save, removing read only from WTF and data folders etc... Nothing seems to work. MacroToolkit addon only saves either general macros or character specific, never both + it's a pain in the *** restoring and rearranging macros every time I log on.

Does anyone else experience this bug?

I downloaded the 7.3.5 torrent (whole game) after deleting 7.2.5 version.

Hello,
Well, you needed to copy your WTF folder from the 7.2.5 version in order to copy all your macros and settings. If you're trying to create new ones and they don't save, either try removing Read-Only from the current WTF, or try to run the game as an Administrator, or try running the correct bit version of the launcher.

I had a copy of 7.2.5 WTF folder saved from January and just imported it, nothing changed (tried twice). I have also removed read-only from WTF folder, ran as administrator, and am using correct 64 bit version of the launcher. After all this I also downloaded a new launcher from the 2nd (?) option on the download page, extracted its contents and replaced the WTF folder again, but nothing still works.

People seem to have had similar problems on retail, but their solutions do not work for me. Is there anything else I am missing?

PS. On pretty much all my characters I had the char specific macro tab filled out, and had 20+ general macros. It would be a major pain in the *** creating them all again.

The issue has been solved, to some extent. I believe the problem lied in the addon MacroToolkit overriding the .wtf macro file stored in WTF folder. Deleting the addon allows me to create macros. However, all previously created macros have been wiped out, so I have to create them all again. I believe that there might be a version mishap between 7.2 and 7.3 MacroToolkit folders, which didn't allow me to store macros on the current patch. This might be helpful to some in the future if people encounter similar problems with the addon.

Just tried copying my old WTF folder into the current 7.3.5 wow folder, and it all got deleted again. I then deleted cache and WTF, let the game create a new one and it all works fine.

Ok, this is getting kind of weird now. The first time I delete cache/WTF and log back in, everything is there. Second login removes all macros. This applies to general macros (for all characters), but for some reason, the specific character macros on my rogue, Poisy. Character macros on my hunter are saved after every login. I removed all addons before deleting WTF.

Again, read-only is removed on all WoW folders, I run the launcher as admin, tried both 64- and 32-bit versions. Please help me out with this.


Edit: are any of the macro files stored on the server side and can be somehow imported back?

i have the same problem but not just with macros. I have also downloaded the whole folder again with torrent, unchecked read only, and all that stuff.

for me it's also the favorite mounts ingame button also disappears from the bar at any relaunch of the game, also settings like UI scale and such.

It's a problem on your side, try to re-download the full client.
