My FPS dropped from 100 to 17.

It happens in the whole game. At first my fps was low so i changed the settings to fullscreen 1920x1080, that fixed the FPS but after i restarted the game the FPS dropped. after that i changed the video settings several times and the FPS didnt change to normal.

Updating my drivers didnt fix it.

Hey there, mate.

May I know are you using laptop or PC and what are your specs, cpu, gpu, ram and such before I suggest anything as fix; as there might be different solution depending of those that you may provide here.

EDIT: And something else important, when did this problem occur and did you do anything before, like redownload launcher, or game or meddled with graphic settings?

Please answer to everything in order to try to find a solution for your problem.

Here is also an idea, if you recently downloaded some new addon, it could also be the reason for your FPS drops. Try to disable all your addons just to make sure.

Check GPU/CPU temps, and if you have never removed dust from your desktop, its about time to clean it up.

1. It can also occur depending on location you are in. There are some of the zones in broken isles that would be a challenge even for latest CPUs and RTX nvidia graphics. So please try to avoid Puzzle quests on broken isles for now until they are scripted properly.

2. Also can be due to the addons. Biggest culprit is weak auras and un-refreshed Details with additional plugins.

3. And if you have weak CPU. Highly dense populated areas like Antorus 25 men, or zones with a lot of active NPCs ( trash mobs ), or Battle Grounds like Alterac Valley will drop your FPS by a lot, or even Dalaran with a lot of Players around.
