[FIXED] PvP turns on when you cast AoE spells

8 out of 10 times nothing happens when the 5 min timer runs out, I'm still sitting with pvp on. It also shouldn't break from aoe damage. I've only hit one world quest mob with devastate, yet some noname little aoe dmg made me pvp on because someone was near.

It happens to everyone , if you accidentally hit anyone from the opposing faction with an aoe spell , you are automatically flagged for PVP (enabled).
Next time use single targeted abilities and you'll be fine

Consider the second part as some kind of a feature request then, the first part is valid

You can relog ( /logout ) and you will be flagged for PVP (disabled)...until they fix this.
Set pvp off before you relog.

This has been reported since launch any update as to when this will be fixed cause logging off 30 times a day is not fun and niether is being flagged for pvp when u totally dislike pvp

Is there any update to this? Would be awesome to see a fix sooner than later for this as this is a pretty game-breaking issue since the realm is a PvE realm and not PVP.

The realm is slated by default a "Normal" realm in which returns a PvE status for the realm. This in returns forces the player to have to flag for PVP if they want to PVP. You can't have it both ways it's not possible. By default, the realm is designed as a PvE realm as its status.

There might be PvP on the realm though this is by user choice and currently a bug forcing it on people.

confirmed this needs to be fixed asap this is a bug and it is not retail like in anyway ive played retail u have to turn ur pvp on to pvp in open world. Currently if u use an aoe of any kind near a flagged pvp person it turns ur pvp on and its not supposed to do that at all.

I don't understand why everyone has such a big issue with world pvp, honor = ap in legion, if someone can kill me, go for it, but if they attack and can't finish the job I'm going to finish them.

Cartmon some ppl dont like pvp and also horde uses that vastly, in situations where there are 10 horde and 2 alliance they use bugged aoe and gank us over and over again....

I concur. This bug needs to be fixed. In some situations it is tolerable but there are certain times when a world boss is surrounded by 5 hordes and 1-2 alliance which get owned just because the horde wants to. There i was, a lonely ally sitting pretty between 5 hordes at a world boss, and i attacked and did nothing to anyone of them, when a druid used an aoe spell near me and flagged me for PvP then with his pals killed me. Where and how is that fun for me? If i wanted to PVP i would have turned it on and attacked them.

You're all complaining about horde, how about I complain about alliance too, me and a prot pala were 2 manning humongris and a group of 4 alliance turned up and started attacking us not the boss, we fought back, they ran away to duel and reset cds then came back at us again, the part that annoyed me was not them attacking we had pvp on, it's fair game because we could have turned it off, it's once we survived their cds they ran away like cowards to duel and reset their cds to attack us again.
Anyway you can't say it's only horde that attack when they out number, I've seen groups from deathwish and the likes going around killing people 5v1 at wqs, hell I've fought someone 1v1 in the world and once I had killed them someone else stood right in front of me, seeing i'm not at full health and probably used some cds, will toggle pvp and attack me lmao, both factions are just as bad as each other for attacking when they out number or have a cd/hp advantage.

This bug is going very annoying... I hate pvp and every day I find someone who doesn't know that "good pvp" is in arena and bgs. idiots are in both sides, of course!
