[REJECTED] Freeze debuff on all characters and then Disconnected, Not able to play!

Bug description: When im standing next to Hannis Shoalwalker in Dalaran for a while and then gets the "Freeze" Debuff and around 3-5 seconds before the debuff ends i get disconnected.

I dont know if this is meant to happend, but i dont really think so

It seems like i get the debuff as soon as i queue for Headless horseman dungeon, position doesnt matter

I tried using another character to queue Headless, everything worked fine untill i entered the dungeon and got the debuff and disconnected.

I made a new character, if previous characters were bugged, but that did not work. Here's the same problem with a lvl 1 Human, made 10 seconds before the screenshots

Unstucking character does not work, that is already tested

I doubt this debuff has anything to do with any permission problem in my gamefolder, but i've checked the gamefolder and everything seems like it should! I have tried starting the launcher, both 32 & 64bit as Administrator but that does not fix my problem.

Hello Pannkakan,

The issue is occuring because the launcher fails to communicate with the server properly. This can have multiple, common causes:

1) You are not running the game through the launcher
2) The launcher's .dll file is missing, being blocked by an anti-virus (Windows Defender does this by default) or being quarantined
3) Something is preventing the launcher from injecting itself into WoW's executable (Which means the anti-cheat doesn't run, which will kick you from the server

It could in fact be a permission issue, or it could be related to an interference with another, third party, program.

Below is a list of solutions you can try:

If you're using Windows 10, check your Firewall settings, a recent update has caused those to reset for many users, which may cause your launcher to be blocked.


Should that not work, try the following solutions (one by one, not all at once!)
- Redownload the launcher
- Remove the Read Only property from the ENTIRE game folder
- Set all launcher_freakz and WoW executables to run with administrator privileges
- Delete the WTF folder
- Move the WoW client to another location on your hard drive, for example the Desktop (And most importantly, the error tends to happen when it's not on the C: drive)
- Delete launcher_freakz-735-64.exe, launcher_freakz-735-64.dll and freakz735-64.exe

Make sure to follow all of the steps correctly!

Common mistakes are:

- Not removing read only or only doing so from the Data folder (The not using launcher issue, if client related, comes from Interface and/or WTF)
- Not setting ALL launchers and WoW exes to run as admin, or doing right click and clicking run as admin on the launcher (which would only run the Freakz launcher, but not WoW, as admin, and only once)
- Having the client on a different hard drive or partition than C:\\(Not sure why this causes the problem, as it doesn't do so on every PC, but it was the reason on my Windows 7 laptop for example)

Hello Sarah!

I have tried all your suggestions and are currently unzipping the gamedata in a new folder located on C drive to see if that will help.

My firewall is disabled and so is the antivirus, so that is not causing this Debuff.

After some research i noticed its this debuff i get

I dont really know how it's used or what it's purpose is, but i am getting that debuff around 10-20 seconds ingame, no matter what character im playing on. I will get back here once i have unzipped freakz in a new folder and tried playing!

This problem is now solved by replacing the launcher.exe in the folder.
