Bug description: Lets say we have 2 targets, the maximum targets without echo that chain lighting can hit is 4, 2 from cast 2 from mastery.At the moment there is a chance to proc more than 4.
Why is this happening?
When you hit your first target with chain lightning it bounces to the second one, the second one having a chance to proc Mastery: Elemental Overload.

First of all, next time you do a post, please provide complete proof. I've checked the shaman's armory, and he has Echo of the Elements as a talent. I don't know if he had it active or not when he tested, and I won't go after "believe me brudda he really had it".
I've tested it myself on 2 dummies, only got 4 or 2 hits. Nothing more, nothing less. Maybe I didn't spend enough time spamming CL. Since we're discussing about this, I'd like to add this:
1. CL only benefits from 33% of your Overload chance.
2. Each bounce of CL can Overload.

i tested this to and never got those hits
Each bounce of CL can Overload : all you need to reject this bug report

I tested this on 2 targets and got 6 hits of CL w/o echo, tested on 3 targets and got 12 hits... Seems legit...

Never mind reject my bug reports, the elemental shaman is working perfectly, next time a player will make a bug report i hope another gm will defend this class.

4 (procs) x 3 (targets) = 12
also for chain, the procs are waaaay more frequent if you use glyph of chain lightning which basically adds 2 more targets to the 'chaining' capacity of the spell. And adding to what erudax said, there is a chance for overload to proc on each hit, which means that one chain can duplicate on the second, third, or even the fourth target. I think noone knew about elemental shamans until their lava beam has been fixed, and no, there is nothing wrong with it, it works just like chain lightning, but in reverse, instead of having its damage decreasing on each target it hits, it increases instead. I rememeber when I used to play as elemental in 25hc hof at windlord with all the adds, I sometimes had 80-86 hits in one cast. It only happened 3 or 4 times, and yeah, I can rememeber because it is honestly overwhelming even to me when I see stuff like that, that's why it happens once in a blue moon. It's all about proc chance, stuff like that rarely happens. There were ancient posts about lava burst and elemental blast in pvp one-shotting players, it's all about chance and percentages.

Cast chain (2) + overload (2) + overload procs from target B, Goes to target A (1) + Overload's chain can Also redirect itself to a different target, and not necessarily behave the way the initial cast did; therefore overload procs on target A and goes to target B and hits once as there is not a third target (1) = 6
