Server improvement

As I said ... nothing you advertising to bring new players on the server if they stay two days and then leave. The idea is to advertise and you make new players to be attracted to play that involves one point to what i have said in previous post. Do you have any statistics about players like:

- players submited per day
- players returned after long time innactivity on server
- how much time spent a new signed player in game
- etc...

?????

its not that easy, advertising yeah ofc but what then. There are some servers that dont even have advertisements and they are on top with online players just because friends recommend it to each other. From my personal view when I changed servers noone came with me there because their arguments were: MoP is shit, full of pandas, too high numbers, too easy game. - which was bs obviously.

This thread seems to have deviated from server improvement to how to bring new players.

Population isnt a big issue currently , 2K is actually a nice number but more would be nice sure , anyways i hope you guys know there is absolutely no way to bring 4823823 players in a week or even a month , you will have to build it up slowly , like income said marketing / advertising needs to be effective and targeted, now if you ask me how , well that is yours to figure out because you're the one who knows your ressources and what you're capable of , but yeah mostly youtube nowadays .

Regarding server improvements , something that always was subject of discussion is the amount of devs but you already said that nobody is applying or that they ask for ridiculous prices so w/e , features like the ingame store are nice and all but at least in my opinion its quite useless , time spent doing that could have been invested into challenge modes or brawler arena for example , it would have added more of mop's core feature considering you're the only server with pokemon and scenarios ( not sure if thats still the case but w/e ) , probably more but cba atm .

Community, but we already knew that, didnt we. Server was pure romanian, you cant expect to extinct all their habits. We tried Exodus realm, for a time it went really good, Genesis had 2500+ and Exodus had 1500+ all the time. But each time server start going good, something happens, like DDOS attacks for like 2 months, which made most of exodus population leave. I wonder if community status would have been any different if we chose any other option but to merge Exodus with Genesis, maybe other way around, or form a new Realm. Who knows. Somehow i still have the feeling that population is 100% Romanian and i play here for 5+ years(summer 2010 i believe). I wonder how newcomer feels if he comes here all alone. Freakz changed alot since i came here, but all that means nothing to some random guy, looking for a place to play this wonderful game which isnt all about scripts, pvp etc. Only 50% is that, the other part is unforgettable TeamSpeak chats we had with our guildmates etc, all the friends we've made here. We need to change how we look to the world. As someone said above, some rewards for streamers, youtubers would be nice. I also think you are short staffed and not only by devs. When was the last time someone saw a gm ingame? Search on youtube all the things GMs do on retail. Im not saying GMs here are bad, on the contrary, but there is so much more you can do. If you are having fun, people around you will have fun.

2: I kinda agree, the website is pretty cluttered with a top menu bar and a side menu. A more compact and sub-menu based navigation would be better. For example, put the Armory, Arena ladder and maybe Boss timers into a single drop-down menu. There's about 6 links to different forum topics/threads that also could be tidied up a little.
3: I don't think that's a clever idea, I don't know much about Romanian copyright and intellectual property laws but I think that would tip off Blizzards lawyers and get the server in a lot of legal trouble.

Just close the romanian global channel, ban romanian and all other languages in world zones, dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and force all nations to talk in a single language, we don't need a cambridge certificate to say 2-3 words in english, also google translate is understable.
I know, most of the romanian part will be mad, but if we want to avoid that "cancer community" label, we must do something, it's a brutal way, but it's the correct one. I'm also from Romania and I love my country, but we need to undersand each other, even if we are romanians, bulgarians or serbs.

1. Creating a direct link on the main page that takes you to the guild list on the forum would be great. Also you should come up with something that automatically adds a guild to that list. I know there are a bunch of 'spam' guilds made for personal deposits or w/e, but have them appears on that list only if they have a certain number of achievement points. Additionally, categorize them as PVE/PVP/neither of the previous two. Currently inactive guilds should not exist on the current list, regardless how old or how long they've been on this server. Even if the community only stays alive, to say it like that, on the forum, they should not be moved to 'trash' section, but to a separate one that still allows the individuals to communicate.

2. Speaking of design, for example, freakz does not even have a graphic banner on the vote pages when you're searching for the the link that takes you back to the site. I get that you admit that you're not as good at it, but jesus, at least try. As previously mentioned, streams will play a major part in advertising.

3. The community. Pure cancer. I get that it was a strictly Romanian server, but god damn that ancient mentality of yours. Personally, I would not stay one moment in an environment that makes me feel uncomfortable and constantly offends me because I'm not Romanian, therefore I'm not entitled to join a guild or raid. Ban racist players. I know it's not a court, but it's a necessary measure. The removal of global_ro is also a great idea.

4. No server is known for its events. That's not what players care about. They not essential to population increase. I agree, it's good to have them, but having useless debates over that is a waste of time.

5. GMs, helpers and the whole cult. Did anyone kill your cat? Did your grilfriend/boyfriend leave you? No offence guys but you show little to no interest in what you're doing. How am I supposed to enjoy my time on this server when I roll my eyes when I see the way you interact with players (i.e. global)? This brings me to my second point: arrogance. Great. You're a gm. So? Insulting players and calling them names will, to no extent, bring you any benefits. Not all players will like you even if you're giving your best interest, after all you're a public figure in a diverse community. Few of them I've never seen do anything around here.

Oh year can you add streams somewhere on main page of website? not a link to streams but actual stream list, just few streams, so they are more highlighted. Also clean streamers list.

6. PvE testing. Set up a section where players can apply to test new encounters. The current situation there is, I find it unfair.

7. Another thing you could add to the main page: the fact that you are looking for devs.

8. The armory: guild logs, gear changes, player status (online/offline); are poorly in sync, sometimes it takes half a day for the data to update.

9. It would actually be cool for newcomers to see the community in action. Set up a section where you can post all videos of guilds completing 10/25 man encounters. It might stimulate the entire guild system and the players, to actually join a guild and will prolly reduce the amount of guild recruit macro spams on global channel.
Same with pvp (arenas, bg premades and whatnot)
