This also occurs from monk’s paralyse and rogue’s blind spells. Also intimidating shout used to have the same effect but I’ve been unable to replicate that recently.

I know that Paralysis removes the ignite and affli dots on the target

On my warlock the dots disappear if the mobs are stunned or any cc is involved . can be tested 2 ways: when u have aggro and when someone else has aggro on the mobs.

Noticed it with Paralyze, Blind, Repentance, Imprison and Banish, i think the Hunter’s trap works the same and so should the priest’s shackle undead. These cc spells remove all dots from the target.

Yes that is a PvP mechanic. Dunno about PvE.
