yea i lag quite a bit today [works well for my feral/lock/boomkin/spriest in arena xD].

i was under the impression it was a ddos attack, maybe from that hacker that was banning ppl as gm

First of all thanks to the GM's for a few replies!

I understand everyone has things to do around christmas so that's cool..

Good to hear that the hosting company has been informed and you guys are looking into it.

We were just in BOT and had a massive lag spike and DC (1650 server time exodus).

But thats cool...

I appreciate the effort towards fixing this!

I still have enormous lag...

My internet works fine... I can download a youtube video super fast, open websites blah blah blah...

I get normal ping in wow before starting a boss fight... and as soon as the fight happens I go to 5000ms+

I've read a few blizz forum posts saying people have experienced this on retail wow... And they say it started around 4.0.6 patch.

Any ideas ?

I've disabled most of my addons... 10 Mbps connection...

Help me!

Its not about speed, its about stability. A <2mbit connection can provide a lag-free enviroment, recently i changed my ISP and was happy with the results however there still are latency issues around 4pm server time. And also deleting your cache will make it even slower since it has to redownload all the server-specific data. And as far as addons go, addons are not supposed to cause lag since they are nothing but a bunch of .xml files and .lua scripts, they don't communicate with the server in any way that can cause lag, only way that an addon can cause you to lag is that if the script was nothing but a while loop that did SendChatMessage forever, but the WoW Client would notice that and stop the script from running.
