Full name : Movrak
Occupation : Blacksmith
Age : 45 years old
Gender : Male
Race : Dwarf
Class : Warrior , later on - hunter
Residence : Ironforge

Other points of interest :

Parents : Uro (deceased) / Baria (deceased)
Rivals/Enemies : : Baro ( Dwarf Death Knight )
Loves : Blacksmithing, minning, fishing and cooking
Hates : Cowards and desertors. Dark Iron Dwarfs to the last.

Early life :

Movrak was born in Outland, of all places, in Honor Hold to be more exact, son of Uro and Baria.
After his mother, Baria, is killed by a Troll Patroll (excuse the pun ) , his father, Baro, decides to leave Outland behind and seek refuge in Azeroth, with the Dwarves of Ironforge.
His early life is hence spent in Ironforge, where he receives a proper dwarf education, under the carefull watch of a renowned Blacksmith.
He enlists in King Magni’s Army and starts his life as a Warrior.

Current day :

Movrak’s unit is sent on a mission to Theramore Isle to help with the war effort and clear a foothold before a larger Army could be sent from Ironforge.
Patrolling unsafe regions in Khalimdor, his unit whitness a village massacred by Orcs and Trolls (and whatnot) and since that day, his best friend and commarad in arms – Baro , also a Dwarf Warrior, looses hope in the Alliance and in Good every prevailing over Evil.
He is therefore easily corrupted by the Lich King and becomes a Death Knight, and from that day forward, the mortal enemy of Movrak.

The whole story is 105 pages in Microsoft Word, but, as it was written in romanian and not english, it can take some time for me to translate the whole thing.

---------------------------------
This is the story of Movrak , the character I play with. I know there are many like it, but this one is mine -

Feedback is appreciated.

Chapter I : Exodus

Movrak is a Dwarf of the “Durgrimst Ingietum” clan , son of Uro and Baria.
His father, Uro, is a Blacksmith in Honor Hold, Hellfire Peninsula, Outland.

Striving for a decent living, close to the front where Blacksmiths are always in demand, Uro repairs weapons and armors for The Alliance. It doesn’t pay much, but it’s enough to feed his family.

Two years ago, when Movrak was only 14 years old, his mother, Baria, was ambushed in the Valley of Bones by a Troll Patroll and murdered.
Following this tragedy, Uro decides to pack everything and leave Outland for good, in search for more peaceful lands, where Movrak could be raised away from the War. But, leaving would mean to give uo his job as a Blacksmith, a job that uo to that point, meant their very survival. He knew that by leaving, he wouldn’t find another job so easily, not in these times of War, not at his age.

With the Alliance – Horde conflict escalating, things got out of hand in Hellfire Peninsula, and life in Honor Hold suddenly got a lot more dangerous than before.
With the Horde advancement up to the Stonebreaker Fortress, Uro could almost see the Orcish armies surrounding the last Alliance bastion in Hellfire Peninsula – Honor Hold.
With Movrak’s future in mind, Uro decides to leave Honor Hold, and, in the last years of his life, to retire in the Eastern Kingdoms, in Ironforge fortress, where he still had some friends and relatives.

Off course, he knew that Movrak would be protected in Ironforge by the other Dwarves, and he would eventually find his way in life. Maybe, who knows, he could become a blacksmith, just like him, gaining honor and faim for his clan and for his parents.
Packing only the minimum for the travel, Uro and Movrak leave Honor Hold, sadly looking back on everything they were leaving behind : Uro’s shop, his tools he used his entire life, their friends, their home and the relative safety of Honor Hold.
Nevertheless, the Horde threat was unbearable, every day spent there had the potential to be their last, not just for the two of them, but for the whole fortress.

So the Exodus begins, the two leaving Honor Hold, with hopes of a better life, away from the Horde’s threat, far away in the Eastern Kingdoms, where Uro hoped to continue what he loved – working with metal and crafting weapons and armors for Alliance warriors.
Traveling by cart from Honor Hold to the Expedition Point, they continue onwards to the Stairway of Destiny (ironic name in their case) but at this point, their cart brakes down, and the two see their journey delayed.
Using old tunnels, they take the underground route from Stairway of Destiny up to The Dark Portal, where finally they go through the Portal and arrive in the Blasted Lands in the Eastern Kingdoms.
From there, Uro and Movrak are escorted by a handful of Dwarven warriors to Ironforge.

[The Exodus was initially larger and more detailed, but as this is the introduction, I kept only the essential , in order to understand where Movrak comes from and how he arrived in Ironforge.
The story continues 3 years after Movrak arrives in Ironforge.]

Movrak lived in Ironforge for 3 years now. Uro rebuilt his Blacksmithing shop and joined the Blacksmiths Guild, even if his shop was now less equipped than the one he had in Honor Hold.
In these 3 years, the did everything he could to give Movrak a proper Dwarf education, teachning him the ways and traditions of his Dwarfs ancestors.

A member of the Durgrimst Ingietum clan, the education and teachings of Movrak falls on one of the most respectable Blacksmiths of Ironforge.
His mentor, after being assured that Movrak has everything he needs to survive outside Ironforge fortress, he send Movrak in his first adventures, under the pretext of “Missions to help the Clan”.

For his first mission, Movrak is sent to Coldridge Valley to help out some Dwarves left stranded in the Valley.

From here, the introduction comes to an end, and the adventure begins !

PS : please, someone reply something, so the second chapter doesn't gets merged with the first one

Hmm... It was certainly a good read. But there are a few things you really need to fix.

1. There are a few spelling errors, like "dwarfs" instead of "dwarves" and "Khalimdor" instead of "Kalimdor". Please fix it.

2. There is a very small time gap between Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. The Link King awakened exactly after Kil'jaeden was defeated on Quel'Danas. The Lich King was killed after about a year. So if your character was born during the events of Burning Crusade, he must be like 2 years old when the Lich King is defeated. There is no way Baro would get corrupted by the Lich King (considering Movrak is an adult) because the Lich King is supposedly dead at that time. You could say Baro was corrupted by other evil characters like Kil'jaeden or the Old Gods, but not the Lich King.

Other than that, I really like it. Infact I'm currently reading the romanian version.

If i remember right, there were no dwarves in Outland. They came there after opening of the Dark Portal. So your dwarf is born somewhere else.

Thanks for the great feedback , i will try to fit the suggestions in the big picture.

The reason for these discrepancies is that i don't know that much about the lore , so things like this will appear over and over.

Exciter , if you have the romanian version , all of it (the whole 105 pages of it) , please send me a PM, i really need it , i lost it on my PC and the old forum where the story was posted was shut down.

Thanks !

Chapter II : Mission to Anvilmar

[Movrak’s Journal , day 1]

I arrive in Coldridge Valley early in the morning, before sun up.
Once I pass through the Coldridge Pass, I stumble upon a Dwarf camp, with some Dwarves gathered around a camp fire, just outside Anvilmar Outpost.

I am welcomed unusually well, apparently “someone” from Ironforge already sent word of my arrival. More even, I don’t see any guards or soldiers around.
I greet them and spend some time with them around the camp fire. We talk for a while, listening to them talking about the weather and the hard conditions in the valley.
Just as I was about to get up and enter the Anvilmar Outpost, one of the Dwarves pulls me aside and offers me a deal.

If I wanted to warm my hands, he promises me a pair of leather gloves, but in exchange, I would have to help him with an issue he’s been having for some time now.
Apparently, the old Dwarf cannot sleep anymore at night because of the wolves howling. If he cannot sleep, at least he could eat and reduce their numbers. He asks me to hunt 8 of them and bring him some “wolf stakes”. The old chap, what a feast he imagined…
By nighttime, the old Dwarf points in the general direction from where he hears the wolves and sends me on my way.

Through the thick snow, I try to remember all the lessons I learned from the Military masters back in Ironforge, defensive and offensive tactics and battle stances. Once I’m ready, I pull out my axe and start charging towards the first wolf.
I am surprised on how easy I handle the axe, switching from right to left, feeling it like a natural extension of my arm. One by one, the wolfs fall in bloodied furs, putting up a fierce fight nonetheless. Some of them manage to bite on my leather jacket, but I manage to fend them off.

In a short while (truth be said, in combat it seemed an eternity), I manage to get all the pelts and meat from them and I return to the camp to fulfill my promise.

I notice, to my surprise, that the fight left me tired and short of breath, I feel so tired that every step was pulling me down.
I clean my axe of blood and head to the camp, thinking already how nice those gloves will look on me and how I will be the envy of all the Anvilmar. Should come in handy in future battles as well !

I turn in the furs and receive the gloves. They are a perfect match, I already feel my hands warming.

I continue toward Anvilmar Outpost for a well deserved meal and a BIG drink. I’m a Dwarf after all, I have a reputation to protect.
I was always curios to meet these Dwarves that I only heard about, who left behind blacksmithing or mining, and took the path of war, true heroes who fight for all the dwarves, some of them becoming renowned for their bravery.

Back in the camp, the old Dwarf gave me a message for one of the warrior Dwarves in Anvilmar, so I find this brother in Anvilmar, polishing his axe.
Under his light armor, I can see the shapes of a muscled body, battle hardened. A huge scar runs across his face, from his left left eye to his right cheek. He sharpens his axe with calculated strokes, like performing a ritual.

I approach him with the message from the old Dwarf in my hands.

The Arms Master, still polishing his axe, lifts an eyebrow and exclaims :

- So you are the lad I heard so much from Uro !

I was a little surprised, it seems that everyone knows me already, even if I didn’t introduced myself yet.
I start telling the Arms Master about my trip from Ironforge to Coldridge Valley, meeting the Dwarves in the camp outside, my fight with the wolves, and, at the end, I show him my trophy – my precious gloves.

The Arms Master lifts his eyes and stares me down :

- You fool ! You have no idea the danger you put yourself in ! You could have been torn apart by those wolves. Do you think those scoundrels outside would have cared if you didn’t returned at all ?

I stood silent at his words , realizing the Master was right. I didn’t knew much about fighting or the art of war, and still I threw myself in battle, without thinking about the consequences.
The lessons learned in Ironforge were just in theory, not much use in a real fight.
But still, my instincts served me well, as I came out the victor !

Or was it just luck ? or ignorance, as the Arms Master left me to believe ?

A lot has changed since, enough to say that, in the following days, under the careful guidance of the Arms Master, I learned more efficient ways of fighting, through hard training, from dawn to dusk. We sometimes trained even at night, to get used with fighting in the dark and learn to listen to other things other than my own two ears.

When the Master deem me fit, he taught me a lesson to witch I immediately saw the irony.

Just like I was grazed by the wolves, the Master showed me how to inflict the same type of damage, making my enemies bleed. The technique was to be called “Rend” .

I just loved it, and If I knew then how useful it would be in the future, I think I would have loved it even more.
With this new knowledge at my side, I was a little more ready to help those in need of my skills.
I exit the Outpost and headed back to camp.

Suddenly, by the side of the road , I notice a Gnome !
A gnome, by the Titans ! I heard there were very few left after the “Gnomeregan accident” and I always believed that the only remaining Gnomes were safely living in Ironforge.
And yet – right in front of me – a “wild” Gnome !

Moving along, I head to the camp, to were the old Dwarf gave me the gloves.
He now had another “deal” for me – a stack of letters for a nearby camp.

I take the letters and I’m on my way to the camp, according to the instructions received from the old one. I manage to find my way to this camp, and hand the letters to a Dwarf , who, guess what ? – he too is in need of a small favor.

I’m starting to believe that I’m taken for a fool and that these Dwarves have actually conspired to make me run around and take care of their businesses. I’ll have to remember to talk to Uro about this, once I return in Ironforge.
This Dwarf, somewhat more friendly than the old one, asks me to hunt some wild boars and bring him back their tusks for a potion he was preparing.
I think this would be a good way of training my new combat abilities, so off I go.

I find some wild boars and quickly notice that all that training with the Arms Master really pays off. The boars fall even quicker than the wolves, this time I even manage to pull it off without being grazed, and with the new “rend” technique, I bring havoc on the wild creatures.

I begin to feel confident and I’m quite proud of this little achievement.
I now realize that the fight with the wolves was pure luck, and that I’m lucky to get away with only small injuries.
Once I complete this task , I head off to the last Dwarf on my “needy Dwarves list" and hand him yet another stack of letters.
I’m invited by this one to warm myself by the campfire and spend the night in one of the tents there.

I immediately fall asleep, dreaming of epic battles…

Who know what tomorrow might bring ?
