Feral Druid Damage

There's been so much talking about feral druids and how OP they are. Several reports that has been confirmed:

Alright so what do we have here? Rip doing to much damage and Ferocious Bite dosn't get affected by armor. Aswell as Ravange doing to much damage right? (I don't speak much Romanian)

Let's do some testing with RIP and compare it to retail.

This is a feral druid guide made on the same patch as we are playing on. He is testing his opening damage in different variations against people with 4.2k Resil, 4.2k and so on. He also counts up how much damage he does.

Take a look at this time: 09:00 - 09:50 It's the most commonly used opener by a feral drood and by the end he shows his damage.

Okay so he reached 140k + on a 4.2k resilience druid. (You can see his resilience at 07:56 - 07:57

Now let's count my own testing: (Note that he goes into bear form after the dots are over. He apparently thought that was the best way to heal up. Also note that I kept auto attacking for my recount to not automaticlly reset).

Okay so what do we see:

Rip: 69420 in 8 ticks = 8677.5 per tick.
Rake: 19840 in 5 ticks = 3968 per tick.
Pounce Bleed = 12048 in 7 ticks = 1721.14 per tick.
Total: 69420 + 19840 + 12048 = 101308 damage when all bleeds have run out.

Okay so his resilience?

So he has almost 4.4k resilience. Now. That druid you should have just watched from my link did 140k + damage from bleeds on a 4.2k resilience geared target. That person trying this had slightly more health than me, saying that he has full Ruthless and some Cataclysmic gear. So slightly more geared than me and hitting a slighty less geared target. That 200 resilience difference and a small gear difference, otherwise it was all the same and it's a 40k damage difference. Cool.

Now I don't know if there has been any changes to Rip to "fix" it but I still thought I could do this thread.

Well I wanted to try it again on someone else so I went for a shadowpriest but I told him to go out of shadow form so that the damage reduction wouldn't affect my testing. Just a cloth target without shields or anything. Result:

Now let's do the math:

Rip + Rake + Punce Bleed = 71802 + 25494 + 11411 = 108707

And how about his resilience? Well guess what? 4.2k. Now isn't this awesome?! Everything is done exactly the same and it's a 4.2k resilience geared and a 4.4k reslience geared target.

The intersting part here is that 200 resilience difference equals 6k difference in damage. Keep in mind that this is a rough number however due to the fact that there's a certain amount of crits and the chances for that. To count that in I would need to spend shitloads of time on this..

So let me hear your opinions? What does this mean? Rip that is the most damage dealing overtime ability that a class have. Is it OP? Is it bugged or how is it working? Seeing as it's supposed to ignore armor, that dosn't look wrong. Slight difference in damage depending on resilience and same or even lower damage than on retail.

Yes, they are bugged, especially rip and ferocious bite, you'll have to wait for a fix.

Yes but what I mean is, how is rip really bugged? Ferious Bite I haven't tested but with Rip. I don't see anything wrong with it really? What exactly is it that is bugged because right now it's doing nearly the same or even lower damage than on retail.

Spells which should only scale based on agility/attack power probably also scale with "spell power".

Just a guess - since this sort of bug becomes prevalent in private servers sometimes (ie. paladin aggro in TBC; on-hit proc enchants or items when used by shamans or DKs).

(This guy thought it was a real duel and continued to fight for some reason.. well, you also see an example of a ferious bite that does at 16k crit. Damn OP. (Remember the extra energy, even if I don't know how much energy I had.)

Well sure as hell, this is damn OP! The bleed that should do the largest amount of damage in the game. The bleed that is supposed to ignore armor does this damage.

I don't know if it has been "fixed" as of now and that's the reason but I don't see 10k crits being OP. (2013-02-05).

I don't know if I need to put in more info but if you want to do the math I'll give you my numbers.

237614 AP with trinket.
15% + Rip damage glyph
30% + bleed damage from Mange.
Tigers fury = 15% more damage.
Resil around 40% = Damage times 0.60
Crits: Around 50% (49% crit)

Please tell me what you think.
