[PVE] - spriest dps

Hi there
Is spriest dps bugged atm?
I have a 384 ilvl priest full pve except cata mace, gearing, reforging and gemming as per retail guides only short of 200 haste rating till 2700 for the next haste plateau.
As per rotation i use facemelter addon, have 100% dot uptime and mind blast off cd double executes...
Atm i do around 15k to 18k only.. As compared to my pvp dk who does 25 to 28k easily..
On of my retail friend pointed out too that your dps is not supposed to be so low..
So does anyone have any idea why the dps is low?

haste isnt working correctly for dots thats why shadow priest's dps is so low at the moment

casters currently need double the haste they should to get extra dot ticks, which is why dot based caster dps is so low atm :/

yes haste is buggy and, as for locks, you should go for a minimum haste cap and then stack mastery. Indeed 15/18k is too low anyway, im pulling way more with less than 380 ilvl.

Berna and I used to consider our priest characters as our "top alts".

After the 4.3.4 update and subsequent MAJOR bugs to this class/spec - we mostly put it in the back of the line compared to our other usable characters.

Imagine topping meters as a shadow priest in 4.0.6 ===> and now you get outDPS'd by basically everything else except for healers.
I can even do more DPS dual/tripleboxing using a 1 button DPS macro ==> compared to using one spriest solo.


It's THAT frustrating seeing something you KNOW you're good at - turn out to be "meh" nowadays.

And on same topic is haste bugged for hots too?
I.e. holy mastery, renews, PoH glyph..?
Can any Hpriest or Rdruid comment?
Should i go disc for that matter?

You should primarily STAY HOLY if your guild/group uses RECOUNT to see a player's performance.

The reason for this is DISCIPLINE's ABSORBS ARE NOT 100% ACCURATE on recount in its 4.3.4 addon version.


This means, to a casual observer, it will look as if you're only responsible for 8-9k healing/absorbs - when in fact it's not counting your Aegis, and only partly of your PW Shield.

So unless you spam PW Shield on a LOT of people - you would barely show up on meters - even if your absorbs (aegis / PW barrier) are saving the day.

hmmm dots damage bugged by haste....

was able to pull 12K dps with my affli warlock on DS10n Yday evening even tho i got full vicious blue gear + a 333 staff and no trinkets.

are affli locvks also affected by these buggs ?

So um... Can something finnaly be done about shadow priests? Due to that haste bug whole spec(class?) is unplayable.
Barely reaching 13k dps on advanced training dummy...
Mind Flay seems to be bugged as well. No matter the haste is, it's channeling lasts whole 3 sec. No effect on Heroism/Bloodlust/Time Warp either.

Haste bug has been fixed (Affliction warlocks are now viable) Dont know the case with Shadow priest maybe something else is in the way aswell.

What's more odd is that in PvP u can get almost oneshoted by shadow priest. They rly need to be looked into.
