WoW Freakz spell link: Scourge Strike (wowhead link)
How it should work: Scourge strike(shadow) should hit for 50% Shadow damage , the SS(shadow ) is afcted , obviously, by the mastery
Bug description: It seems that the damage that SS(shadow ) makes, stop increasing after an amount of mastery , wich it shouldn't , the more mastery you have the more shadow damge you should make, but here the damage you make is nearly the same

Proof:
Here is with 86% mastery

70% mastery

From the second pic my SS(shadow ) should hit for 49948.822

It's the same on retail. Average Physical hit 80k. Average shadow hit 125k. You might say this happens because the shadow portion cannot crit independently and its a direct portion of the physical damage. That is correct, but not enough to rank the Shadow portion higher than the Physical portion. Overall the shadow portion did about 700k more damage.

The shadow portion is 50% of the unmitigated physical damage.

Fixed that for you. It works just like ret paladin's mastery.

No, UNMITIGATED. It's always been like that, even in wrath of the lich king when there was no mastery and the shadow portion did almost equal damage. Or in Cataclysm where you couldn't go above 60% mastery, yet the shadow portion still did more damage. It's not the same mechanic.

If the shadow part was calculated by the mitigated physical portion, you'd need at least 100% mastery for the shadow portion to exceed the physical one (excluding the +5% magic damage debuffs, in which case you'd need 91%). Those values were not attainable in Cataclysm.

I don't think it's like that for ex take a look here its the physical component and this is the shadow part. Now take a look at the first hit which was a crit .
275936*0.5(shadow damage)=137968
137968*1.05(curse of elements)=144866.4
Also if you divide 284030(his first hit) to 144866(dmg without mastery) you would reach 1.96 which is 96% damage increase on shadow spells... so its reacheable.

He has this due to determination buff so 10% more mastery and if you look here at 12:17 you can see he has 68.83% mastery at 549 ilvl which is pretty low, think a bit if you got full bis.

So , iti did some tests , again , ...
this time with no gear on me (only 20% mastery) , and ss(shadow) apparently does the corect damage (when you are low with mastery) , but the UNmitgated that Dreadblade si talking about is missing ...
