@Shocker:

2) You're correct. AP Bonus is not affected by the BM multiplier. Recalculating the values (with and without the 7.5x multiplier):

Quote:

low= 1* 7.5 * 0.4 * 1 * (( 12708 / 3.3) + 0) + ( 35442 / 11 - 1) = 14774
high= 1* 7.5 * 0.4 * 1 * (( 19063 / 3.3) + 0) + ( 35442 / 11 +1) = 20553

CALCULATED SWIFT REFLEXES WITH 7.5 MULTIPLIER: 0.3 * low to 0.3 * high = 4432-6166

Quote:

low= 1 * 0.4 * 1 * (( 12708 / 3.3) + 0) + ( 35442 / 11 - 1) = 4761
high= 1 * 0.4 * 1 * (( 19063 / 3.3) + 0) + ( 35442 / 11 +1 ) = 5534

CALCULATED SWIFT REFLEXES WITHOUT 7.5 MULTIPLIER: 0.3 * low to 0.3 * high = 1428-1660

Quote:
FREAKZ SWIFT REFLEXES = 1914-2492

As you can see, the calculated values without the multiplier are even lower then what's shown in the tooltip. I can't reproduce the Freakz values for Swift Reflexes. Perhaps actual attackspeed is taken into account (instead of base weaponspeed)?

3) Either way, the scaling from AP is quite weak and the majority of the damage seems to come from the weapon. Look at the following logs/graphs from this Brewmaster @10 man heroic Immerseus (August 15, 2014 - which is during 5.4.8.)

His attackpower over the course of the fight:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/GRh4pXHcxTJyLqP8#fight=2&&type=resources&&source=8&&view=events&&start=504586&&end=545277&&spell=1001

His AP is roughly around 150k over the course of the fight with peaks at 210k. Even at the peak that would mean only 210k/11 = ~19k added damage for Swift Reflexes from AP scaling. Majority of the damage seems to come from the other part of the formula (based on weapon).

Take a look at his actual Swift Reflexes damage:

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/GRh4pXHcxTJyLqP8#fight=2&&type=damage-done&&source=8&&view=events&&start=504586&&end=545277&&ability=124335

50-70k hits, 130-160k crits.

Now, we don't know which weapon he actually uses. This log is from the end of 5.4.8 so chances are high he has a heroic weapon from SoO equipped.

Without the 7.5x modifier you will never be able to get those amount of hits/crits.

EDIT:
Just thought of something:

For 2-handers, your attackspeed gets increased by 40%, perhaps that's where the difference comes from?

@lorne
Uhh... I found out another blizz fuckup, carefully check the description variables (formulas) of the default passive spell and the damage spell:
- default passive spell (the one you see in your spellbook and the one that shows you the tooltip with the damage)

- the damage spell:

As you can see, 3 HUGE diferences:
1) the damage spell has 7.5x base multiplier while the default passive spell doesn't have any other base multiplier
2&3) the damage spell correctly has the 0.4x BM multiplier and the AP/11 bonus, while the default passive spell has 1x BM multiplier and AP/14 bonus.

If we use the formula from @2&3) with 1x BM multiplier and AP/14 bonus, we will get the EXACT values show in the tooltip.

But........ which one is the correct formula? Rolling Eyes

What we need is a blizz video with:
1) player holding mouse over swift reflexes in spellbook to see tooltip
AND
2) player dealing damage with swift reflexes so we can see the actual damage

@Shocker:

Good catch. Can confirm I get the EXACT same values shown in the tooltip ingame with the formula from the passive. Looks like someone at Blizz forgot to update the tooltip -

I'll try to find video proof.

@Shocker

1) Wasn't able to find a single video that shows this.
2) See the following video:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=KHdc5OgrtPM:

His charsheet @1:22

Base AP: 39.755 (current AP shown just below minimap, to the left of the ingame clock)
Weapon: 2x Softfoot's Last Resort LFR 4/4 Upgraded (ilvl visible just above the item in charsheet)

Weapon Icon: http://www.wowhead.com/item=104932/softfoots-last-resort

Let's calculate with the values from #124335 (7.5x multiplier, AP/11):

Quote:
low= 1* 7.5 * (0.4 * 0.898882275 * (9432 / 2.6 + 1 * 9432 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 11 - 1) = 41772
high= 1* 7.5 * (0.4 * 0.898882275 * (17518 / 2.6 + 1 * 17518 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 11 + 1) = 54367

#124335 SWIFT REFLEXES: 0.3 * low to 0.3 * high = 12532-16310

The numbers in the video are over twice as high, can't reproduce...-

EDIT: Only when I use a 1x BM modifier instead of 0.4x, the numbers actually seem to match up:

Quote:
low= 1* 7.5 * (1 * 0.898882275 * (9432 / 2.6 + 1 * 9432 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 11 - 1) = 63783
high= 1* 7.5 * (1 * 0.898882275 * (17518 / 2.6 + 1 * 17518 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 11 + 1) = 95248

#124335 SWIFT REFLEXES: 0.3 * low to 0.3 * high = 19135-28574

or...1x BM modifier and AP/14 modifier:

Quote:
low= 1* 7.5 * (1 * 0.898882275 * (9432 / 2.6 + 1 * 9432 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 14 - 1) = 57975
high= 1* 7.5 * (1 * 0.898882275 * (17518 / 2.6 + 1 * 17518 /2/ 2.6) + 39755 / 14 + 1) = 89439

#124335 SWIFT REFLEXES: 0.3 * low to 0.3 * high = 17392-26832

Fixed, I used the 1x BM modifier, 11 AP modifier and 7.5x multiplier. Should be much better now. If you're planning on opening a new topic please read all the posts and formulas in this topic before saying "damage is wrong omg"
